36 Chapter 36 (1/2)

Skylar plopped down on her bed and she didn't want to get up nor move. She wanted to sleep forever but she knew that she couldn't. She would just take a nap and then wake up and deal with everything that was plaguing her.

Skylar saw Lola do the same thing that she had done, just plop on her bed and close her eyes. Lola was always one to talk or insist to talk unless she was also dealing with her problem.

Skylar got up and walked over to her, Lola opened her eyes and Skylar confirmed what she already knew. Something was definitely on her mind and Skylar wondered what it was.

”Lo are you okay?'

”I don't know,” Lola replied.

”What is it?”

”Tyler.”Skylar saw the look on Lola's face when she said his name. Skylar had known how much her friend had liked him and they had a falling out but Skylar wasn't so sure about what had happened to cause it. She knew part of it, not the whole story.

”Did he do something?”

”I miss him Sky.”

”What bought that about?”

”I saw him walking with his friends, and how good I almost had it with him,” Lola said.

”Why don't you tell him how you truly feel?”

”I can't, I already know how he feels,” Lola replied in a defeated and hurt the tone,

”You can never truly know until you confront him.”

”Tyler hasn't as much made an effort to come and talk to me or anything, which is clear enough where he stands with me and I don't want to humiliate myself again,” Lola replied.

”Why do you like him so much?”

Lola looked down at her hands before she finally answered, ”The thing is that I have liked him for a while. He is one of the few people who weren't mean to me nor did he ignore me. He used to greet me all the time before you came to our school. Once we were in the same science class.”

Lola paused and took a breath before carrying on, ”And he didn't treat me badly or anything, he talked to me and offered me, sweets. Those are my favorite sweets. I started to look forward to coming to school, and didn't dread it because I would see Tyler and have someone to talk to.”

Lola sniffled, ”I always wanted to confess my feelings but I didn't know when the right time was. I kept on postponing it, until this year when you came and I found courage at the party. I was so happy when he kissed me back but that happiness diminished as quickly as it had come.”

”What happened that night?” Skylar asked, wondering what had caused them to drive them apart.

”I can't say,” Lola replied.

”Can't or won't?”

”Both.”

”You can always tell me when you are ready,”

”I don't think I can.” Lola replied.”

”Why? You can trust me.”
