His fingers left a trail of warmth everywhere they touched. Skylar didn't want this feeling to end, but she stopped him.
”Stop, Reign. I can't do this, not now.”
His eyes looked a bit cloudy, ”Why?”
”It's not the right time and you just went through a break up so it wouldn't be right for us to do this.”
”Why is not right, Skylar?”
”We need to first set out where all of this is going and leading to. I also have Jessie. That is not fair towards him. We need to first see how he takes it if we even tell him at all.”
”Do you like Jessie?”
”No.”
When the answer left her mouth, she wasn't so sure that she was also convinced. She felt a bit odd. Did she like Jessie?
”Why did you say it so hesitantly?”
”I don't know Reign. I thought I didn't. And I don't think I do.”
Reign raked his hand through his hair, ”Do you need time to think about who you like more?”
”I….no, it's just that I didn't think that you would leave Karly so soon or better yet leave her. This is all too much for me to process in one go.”
”I want to be with you, Skylar.”
”I know, Reign but it isn't so simple you know.”
”It is Skylar, all you need to say is one word. And that word is yes, and then we will look at the rest later on, as it comes our way.”
Skylar remembered Jessie's smile and his soft eyes and felt torn. She looked at Reign and she knew that she wanted him, but what was stopping her so much? Why couldn't she just jump into his arms and belong to him?
”I just need to think Reign, it's been a long day.”
”Okay, at least can I lay beside you.”
”I don't know, what if my mom comes, I will be trouble.”
Reign pulled her down and embraced her, this time she closed her eyes to troubled sleep. She roused a bit the next morning. Skylar abruptly got up and looked to the side, and found Reign gone. She wondered if all of this was a dream that she was having. If last night had really happened.
Skylar could smell his scent still lingering on her sheets, she saw a small piece of paper on the side. She reached for it and opened it.
”You were sleeping peacefully, I couldn't wake you up. Reign.”
