Skylar's heart began to race wildly, Reign inched closer and she could barely breath. She was frozen at the spot.
A sound came, and she came back to her senses when she realized that it was Reign's phone ringing. He leaned back and picked up his phone.
From his conversation she can tell that it was Karly on the line. He hung up and she looked down. She couldn't look at him from the embarrassment she felt. Why hadn't she pushed him away when he inched closer.
Reign rubs the back of his head, ”Karly said she will be here soon.”
Skylar pretended to read the paper in her hand, ”Oh okay, then we better start making a few notes.”
”Skylar, I”
Skylar cut him off before he could finish his sentence, ”We will compare findings and ideas later.”
Reign didn't say anymore, and he started to write, she knew he also felt the awkward air between them. She started to jot down some notes and ideas. Every-time Reign asked her something she would answer it with a yes or no.
”That's it.” Reign said.
He grabbed her chair and turned it towards him, Skylar felt surprised at the way the chair had abruptly jolted.
”What are doing?”
”I want to know what is going on between us, Skylar.”
”Nothing and I thought we already established that.”
”I just want to know why you always want to act as if nothing is happening between us.”
”There is nothing, Reign.”
”That's some bullshit! And you know it.”
”As a matter of fact, I don't.”
”Don't lie to me Skylar, you wanted to kiss me too. Be honest.”
”I don't know what you are talking about.”
”That again, you always deny what happens between us or make up excuses all the time.”
”No I don't.”
”Yes, you do. I can name a few.”
”Name them.”
”The first time we kissed, you were so hell bent on denying it. To the point that you even acted as if you didn't remember it. Even more so, that it didn't happen.”
”Why does it bother you so much? Who cares?”
”Because it feels as if it meant nothing to you.”
”Is that all that you have? That kiss was a mistake, it was in the dark and I didn't know whom I was kissing.”
Reign places his hand under her chin, ”Let's do it again then.”
He leans his, before he can place his lips on hers, they break apart when they hear the front door open.
