240 Acting Suspiciously Like a Stalker (2/2)
”You can ask your sister to know the truth,” Xue Yi Ming said. He glanced at the door and smiled.
When he looked at the way Yang Yun and Mingyue were holding each other, Xue Yi Ming could guess that the girl had regained her memories, and Yang Yun was telling the truth.
”Xue Yi Ming,” Lin Tian Yu spoke after a brief silence between them. ”If Mingyue had remembered everything, do you think,” she hesitated. ”Do you think that she will return to her world?”
”From what I heard from Yang Yun, your sister had her family who loved her,” Xue Yi Ming said. ”If there's a chance, of course, she will choose to go back.”
Hearing his words, Lin Tian Yu lowered her head further. Her body stiffened, and she looked up in surprise when she found herself in Xue Yi Ming's embrace. For a few seconds, Lin Tian Yu did not move.
”Don't worry,” Xue Yi Ming spoke softly. ”I will never leave you alone. You will always have me.”
Lin Tian Yu nodded. At first, she was dispirited upon learning that her sister will someday leave her side. After all, she did not have many friends. Because of her father's position, there are a lot of girls who pretended to be her friends.
It was in high school when Lin Tian Yu experienced the feeling of someone backstabbing her. Since then, Lin Tian Yu started to distance herself from others. It was until Mingyue showed up in her house that she began to learn to trust again. Mingyue is not only her sister; she is her best friend.
So, Xue Yi Ming's words and promise only made her heart swelled with warmth.
Just as they were about to enjoy being close to each other, Lin Tian Yu's phone rang. Lin Tian Yu pushed Xue Yi Ming away and began to scramble to search for her phone in her bag.
Her eyes widened when she saw the caller ID. ”It's my father!” Lin Tian Yu swallowed before she slid her fingers on the screen to answer the call. ”Hello? Dad?”
Xue Yi Ming watched as Lin Tian Yu's face paled. ”What's wrong?” he asked as soon as Lin Tian Yu ended the call.
”This is bad. My parents. They're downstairs,” Lin Tian Yu said. ”They came to visit my sister, and they wanted me to bring them here.”
Xue Yi Ming frowned. He could not understand why Lin Tian Yu would panic. ”What's wrong? Why are you panicking?”
”You know how well my parents love my sister,” Lin Tian Yu said. ”Back then, when they heard his friends wanted to pair their son with Mingyue, my father would reject them right away. In my father's eyes, my sister and I are very precious. If my father sees my sister and Yang Yun right now…”
Lin Tian Yu did not have to finish her words for Xue Yi Ming to understand the consequences.
”I'll go inside and warn them,” Lin Tian Yu turned to knock on the door but was once again stopped by Xue Yi Ming.
”Let's go downstairs and greet your parents first,” Xue Yi Ming said. ”I will send a text to Yang Yun to warn him.”
