239 Yang Yun, I’m Sorry (2/2)
Yang Yun smiled at her question. He bent his head and kissed his wife's swollen eyes. As Mingyue was studying his face earlier, Yang Yun was observing her every move and expression. His eyes heart swollen with joy as he continued to stare at her face.
”Yang Yun?”
”Hmm?”
”Yang Yun…”
His lips curved into a wide smile. ”Yes.”
”Yang Yun!”
”I'm here.” He tightened his arms around her body to assure her that he was not going to leave her side.
Mingyue smiled at the contact. How can she not understand what her husband was trying to convey? She licked her lips and swallowed. ”How did you find me? How did you get into this world?”
”It's a long story.”
”Well, make it short.”
Yang Yun chuckled at her response. ”Second Brother found a lost tribe from Sui Country. They have ways to travel to different time and space.”
Mingyue stared at him with wide eyes. ”The Nanlin Tribe? I heard Second Brother spoke about them a few times. He said those people in the tribe have ways to cure every poison.” Mingyue let out a gasp when she realized something. ”How is the Princess? Did you deliver the herbs to grandfather in time? Is the poison in her body cured?”
”The Princess is in good health. The poison in her body had disappeared,” Yang Yun said. ”I took the herbs back to grandfather once you vanished.”
The smile on Yang Yun's face gradually disappeared as he recalled that day. People around him thought that he was heartless because he chose to return to the city with the herbs instead of staying around to search for his wife.
”You did a great job,” Mingyue leaned in and kissed him on his chin. ”I know you wouldn't disappoint me.”
The poison in the princess' body did not disappear with the help of those herbs. However, Yang Yun decided that that was another story for another time.
Yang Yun could only smile in helplessness as a respond.
Jiang Mingyue tilted her head as she continued to watch him. ” Yang Yun,” her voice was soft. ”I'm sorry.”
”What are you sorry for?” He patted her hair softly.
Mingyue lowered her gaze. ”I know it must be tough on you on the day I suddenly disappeared. I'm sorry. I should have listened to you and everyone else. I shouldn't be the one who dug out the herbs. You and Second Brother had reminded me a few times. When I found the herbs, I should let someone else dig it out. But I did not listen. I was too excited when I found the herbs. In the end, it caused us-”
Her words were left unfinished. Mingyue could only stare at Yang Yun with a puzzled gaze as he put his finger on her lips.
”It's all in the past. I don't care about it,” Yang Yun said. His gaze softened as he continued to stare at hers. ”What's important was that, now, you are here. Right beside me.” He pulled her back into his embrace and said, ”Just promise me that you will never leave my side again.”
