201 The Two of Them Were Close (1/2)

Yang Yun took a deep breath when the portal closed. He erased the signs and symbols he had drawn earlier. Then, he picked up a few letters on his side and left the scene. A smile curved on his lips as he wondered how Grandfather would react once he saw the herb he sent.

After he had picked up the Shadow Grass the other day, Yang Yun had dried them before he sent them to his world. In this world, the grass was considered useless and had no beneficial use.

However, in his world, the grass was very precious.

Yang Yun waved a hand when he returned to Xue Yi Ming's car. He sat on the passenger seat and started reading letters from his family and friends as Xue Yi Ming drove.

A frown appeared on Yang Yun's face as he read a letter from Lu Wei. Back then, the two of them had gotten closer after he lives with the tribe for years. Before Yang Yun departed to this world, Lu Wei had stepped up as the Emperor of Qian Rong to prevent a war between three countries.

What surprise Yang Yun right now was the news that his friend was going to marry Princess Lingchen. What in the world happened in Da Cheng during his absence? Why did Lu Wei suddenly going to marry the Princess? The last time they talk, Lu Wei had said that he had no intention to marry.

”What's wrong with you?” Xue Yi Ming asked.

Yang Yun shook his head. ”Nothing. It's just that the Crown Princess is getting married,” he answered absentmindedly. He put the letters into his bag, and at the moment, Yang Yun's phone rang. He stared at the screen and froze.

”What? What is it? Who calls?” Xue Yi Ming noticed Yang Yun's expression changed.

Yang Yun showed the screen to Xue Yi Ming.

”Why aren't you picking up the phone? It's Lin Mingyue!”

Yang Yun snapped out of his trance and slid his finger at the screen. Then, he waited for three seconds before he said, ”Hello?”

”Hello? Yang Yun?”

His heart skipped a beat when he heard her voice through the phone. His ear felt ticklish, and for a second, he found himself tongue-tied.

”Are you there?”

”Yes,” he finally answered. ”I'm here.”

”Sorry. I got your number and saved my number to your phone when you let me take some pictures the other day,” Lin Mingyue said. ”I hope you don't mind.”

”I don't.”

”Anyway, are you free right now? My parents were wondering if you and Brother Xue would like to come over for lunch.”

Yang Yun turned to Xue Yi Ming and told him about the invitation. The two agreed to show up at the Lin's mansion for lunch. Xue Yi Ming made a quick stop to see a client before he drove to the Lin's mansion.

Once they arrived, the maid ushered them in. The Lin's couple received them warmly and led them into the dining room, where various foods were served.

”Xue Yi Ming, Yang Yun, I'm glad you made it here,” Lin Tian Yu said as she walked in with Mingyue.

”How's your injury?” Xue Yi Ming asked as he stared at the bandage around the girl's head.

”It's getting better,” Lin Tian Yu said. She glanced at her sister and smiled. ”I have my personal doctor here looking after me. Of course, I'm going to be good. You don't know how strict Doctor Lin is towards her patients.”
