177 Work For Me (1/2)

Xue Yi Ming placed his belongings on the table and glanced at Yang Yun. The two of them returned to his apartment after a long conversation in the cafe. Once Xue Yi Ming told Yang Yun everything that had happened to his wife, he could see that Yang Yun was in deep thought. Therefore, he stopped asking questions to give Yang Yun some space.

”What are you planning to do now?” Xue Yi Ming asked. He poured a glass of water and handed it to Yang Yun. ”Your wife, she could not remember her past. Are you still going to bring her back to your world?”

”I have to bring her back,” Yang Yun said decisively. He took the glass from Xue Yi Ming and held it in his hands. ”No matter what, her families and friends are still waiting for her to return.”

”What if she won't gain her memories back?”

Yang Yun lowered his head. He had never thought that something like Mingyue losing her memories would happen. He had imagined his reunion with Mingyue thousand of times. And nothing among those included his wife not remembering him or herself.

”You could bring her back, but then, when she arrived with no one familiar to her, she might hate you,” Xue Yi Ming pointed out.

Yang Yun swallowed. He knew that what Xue Yi Ming had said was true. He did not want Mingyue to hate him. Still, he could not leave Mingyue here. He was not the only one who wanted to see Mingyue again. Her family missed her too. He has promised everyone that he would return with Mingyue.

”I don't know what to do,” Yang Yun admitted.

The room went silent. The only thing they could hear was the sound of wind from the air-conditioner and the ticking noise from the wall clock.

”Do you think she can get her memories back?” Yang Yun asked.

”It's possible. Back then, the doctor said that she lost her memories due to some trauma. Probably because she drowned and almost lost her life. She may have suppressed her memory due to this trauma. There is still a chance that she might remember. It's just that, no one can tell when will she start to remember. The Lin family had done everything to help her, but so far nothing.”

”Years ago, you were the one who saved Mingyue,” Yang Yun said. He stood up, clasped his hand and bowed. ”Xue Yi Ming, thank you.”

”Hey, hey, let's not do this,” Xue Yi Ming helped him up. ”I am a soldier. It was my duty to protect civilians. I cannot let her die when she was just in front of me.”

”But still, I have to thank you.”

Xue Yi Ming could only heave a long sigh. ”Well, for the two of you to meet me when into this world, this is also fate. If there is anything I can do to help, just say it.”

”One day, I will repay your kindness,” Yang Yun said. ”Right,” He snapped out when he thought of something. Yang Yun put his hand into the pocket and took out a small bag. Then, he took out a gold bracelet and put it into Xue Yi Ming's hand. ”I don't have many valuables with me. But I hope that you can accept this. If you sell it, you will be able to get some money.”

Xue Yi Ming studied the bracelet. He had seen the jewelry when he went through Yang Yun's belongings to look for his identification. ”This is…”

”It's real gold.”

Xue Yi Ming's eyes went wide. Back then, he didn't take a good look at the jewelry and assumed that it was a fake. After all, with the way Yang Yun dressed at that time, he had not expected him to carry such valuable with him.

Moreover, he was at the hospital. He was not stupid to admire jewelry at a public place, lest someone would rob him. Now, upon closer look, Xue Yi Ming realized that it was real gold.

”I cannot accept this.” Xue Yi Ming pushed the bracelet back to Yang Yun.
