167 Who are You? (2/2)

Because of his guilt, Xue Yi Ming had settled with the hospital bill and pleaded her to save the victim.

Mingyue did her best to treat his wound. Not because Yi Ming pleaded her, but because she could not bear to see the man on the bed in pain.

He had a fracture on his left arms and flesh wound all over his body. Mingyue had seen his body in the Emergency Room earlier, and it was full of old scars. Her heart ached at the sight of it. She wondered how did he get those scars on his body.

Mingyue inched closer and brushed her fingers on his face. ”Who are you? Why do I feel like I know you?” she whispered at him.

Somehow, she could imagine him dressed in all black. His eyes gentle as he looked at her. He stood gallantly, and the smile on his lips told her that everything would be alright with him around.

After a few minutes of observing the man, Mingyue closed her eyes and shook her head, feeling like a fool. ”What are you thinking, Mingyue!”

Because she had her eyes closed, she failed to see the slight movement from his eyes and fingers.

Mingyue took a deep breath and walked out.

The first thing that Yang Yun could see once he opened his eyes was a figure in white leaving the room. He tried to sit up but failed when he felt pain all over his body. His body weakened. It was hard for him to open up his eyes or to think straight.

Where was he? What happened?

Yang Yun tried to figure out what had happened to him.

He recalled that Chief Ye and the tribe members had created a portal. He entered the portal, and with the help of Mingyue's thumb ring, he was led to a direction. After a long time of running, Yang Yun saw a bright light at the end of the tunnel.

When he finally landed, he was surrounded by tall trees. The sky was dark, although it was not in the nighttime. Now that he had arrived in this new world, it will be up to him to search for his wife. The thumb ring will only lead him to the world where Mingyue was, but it will not lead him to Mingyue.

First Yang Yun left a mark at where he had landed. Chief Ye had reminded him that if he wanted to return to their world, it would be easier to use the same portal where he came from.

Once everything settled, Yang Yun started to walk along the road. He was admiring the smooth road when he saw a bright light in front of him. And then, something crashed into him.

And then what happened?

He looked up at the ceiling, and his eyes move to scan his surroundings. It was dark. However, he quickly adjusted his vision in the dark. Through a faint light, Yang Yun could see a lot of strange things around him.

Yang Yun knew that this world was different than his. Chief Ye had warned him that no matter what happened, he should remain calm. It was not wise to panic and attracted attention to himself. Or else, it will be hard for him to look for Mingyue.

Yang Yun closed his eyes as drowsiness kicked in.

He made a promise to himself that once he regained his strength, he should get out of this place and look for Mingyue. The thought of his wife waiting for him to find her made his heart swell. He was now in the same world as Mingyue. He has to find her quick. He missed her so much.

”Mingyue,” Yang Yun whispered with a hoarse voice. ”Where are you?”
