143 Accepting the Chief’s Condition (1/2)
Chief Ye was silent as she was deep in her thought. ”Your Highness, may I ask when did you contact the poison in your body?”
”It has been a while,” Princess Lingchen said. Then she told the old lady how she fell into a pond and caught a high fever. They only found out about the poison when none of the physicians in the palace could detect what went wrong with her.
When Princess Lingchen finished, Chief Ye had a complicated look on her face. Judging from the Princess' pulse, it seemed that the poisonous bug had been implanted into her body longer than the princess thought.
”Then, do you mind telling me how you treat the poison when it attacks?”
The Crown Princess then told the older woman how her grandfather and Mingyue would previously counter the cold poison with acupuncture, heating her body and moxibustion. Chief Ye had a look of admiration when Princess Lingchen finished. She had never thought that those techniques would be able to suppress the cold bug. Whenever they encounter someone who encountered the bug, they would immediately kill it.
It seemed that the people around the Crown Princess were quite talented.
Chief Ye had previously heard about the Crown Princess' private physician's talent through her grandson, Wei Wei. She had then checked the suture the physician had made around Wei Wei's stomach area. The stitches were neat, unlike what she had seen before. Chief Ye did not know anyone with such skills. It was regretful to know that the physician had vanished after the solar eclipse, or else, she would love to meet the physician.
However, it seemed that both the two physicians did not fully know of the nature of the poison. At least they did not know that a bug from the southern area caused the cold poison. When the physicians thought that the poison went dormant, it was the bug that went dormant. When the bug awakened, it would slowly release its venom, causing the Crown Princess to experience freezing cold all over her body.
”Chief Ye, Prince Lu Wei had previously mentioned that there was another way to cure this poison inside of me,” Princess Lingchen spoke carefully. ”Do you know how?”
The old lady's expression softened as she saw the anxious look on the Princess' face. ”Of course.”
Princess Lingchen's eyes sparkled as she heard Chief's Ye respond. The Crown Princess glanced at Jiang Xiao Tian when she sensed that the man was looking at her. Princess Lingchen knew that Jiang Xiao Tian wanted to be careful as they did not know Prince Lu Wei and Chief Ye well. She also knew that there would not be another chance for her to recover from the poison except if they found another batch of Shadow Grass. But after Mingyue went missing, Princess Lingchen did not harbor her hope on finding the rare herb again.
”Can you help me?” Princess Lingchen asked.
