141 Another Method (2/2)
”The Crown Princess of Da Cheng is indeed an interesting person,” Chief Ye commented. She closed her eyes as she was deep in her thought. When she opened her eyes again, she turned to look at her grandson and raised a brow. ”Why don't you agree to marry the Princess?”
”Grandmother,” Prince Lu Wei said weakly.
Chief Ye held the staff in her hand tightly. ”What? I don't think it's a bad deal. It is a win-win situation. You can get your freedom, and the Princess will be free of the poison.”
Prince Lu Wei heaved a sigh. ”Marriage is not something to be taken lightly.”
Chief Ye laughed at her grandson's respond. ”I didn't think you're such a romantic person.”
”It has nothing to do about being a romantic person or not.”
”I thought you had spent your life long enough in the palace to know that marriage between royalties is usually a business transaction.”
”I don't want to live a restricted life in the palace,” Prince Lu Wei answered. ”I have lived all my life under my late father and my brothers in the palace. It's not a good way to live life.”
Chief Ye continued to stare at him. After a long silence, she spoke again. ”So that's why you wanted to return to the clan with me. But are you sure this is what you want? Coming back with the clan, you will be forced to live in seclusion.”
Prince Lu Wei could only watch his grandmother silently. He had thought over the matter for days after the Crown Princess proposed a marriage. In the end, he decided that living in seclusion is better than living in a palace life where his movement was constantly watched over and restricted.
”Wei Wei,” Chief Ye called.
”What is it?” Prince Lu Wei snapped out of his thought.
”We're departing in two days, correct?” Chief Ye watched his grandson nodded and continued, ”I'd like to meet the Princess again before we return to Sui Country.”
