134 Escorting the Prince (1/2)
Prince Lu Wei sat in the carriage with his eyes closed. He knew that the ambassador sent by his brother had been watching him throughout their journey to the border. But, the prince was too lazy to pay any attention to that elderly. His mind was preoccupied with the thought of escaping once they passed through Da Cheng's border. He wondered if his grandmother would send people to help him escape.
”Your Highness,” the Ambassador could no longer bear the silence. They will cross over Da Cheng's border and entered Eastern Zhou, but the Prince has been ignoring him since he boarded the carriage. The Prince's attitude was making him uncomfortable.
The Ambassador expected that Prince Lu Wei would at least asked something regarding the situation in Qian Rong, yet, the Prince only spoke to him a few words when the Prince Lu Wei came to find him to discuss the plan to bring him back to Qian Rong.
Prince Lu Wei opened his eyes lazily and peeked at the ambassador. ”What is it, Ambassador Nian?”
”Ah, Your Highness, are you comfortable?” Ambassador Nian looked flustered as he did not expect the Prince to respond to him? ”If you're feeling tired, then we can take a quick break before we cross the border and enter Eastern Zhou.”
The Prince lowered his head and sneered. ”Forget it. We should continue. There are a few more days before we reach Qian Rong. If we didn't arrive in time, my brother might think that the Emperor of Da Cheng is keeping me as a hostage.”
The Ambassador lowered his head. It was him who relay the message to the Emperor of Da Cheng that their Emperor would take it as Da Cheng keeping their prince as a hostage if Prince Lu Wei refused to return to Qian Rong with him.
Ambassador Nian saw Prince Lu Wei shut his eyes again and sighed with relief. He flipped the curtains and peeped at the soldiers escorting them. The Ambassador's eyes narrowed as he thought over why Da Cheng sent too many escorting soldiers. He calmed himself by thinking that, as Prince Lu Wei had stayed in Da Cheng for months, both the Emperor and Crown Princess of Da Cheng treated the Prince well during his stay.Naturally, they assigned for many soldiers to honor the prince.
During Ambassador Nian's stay in Da Cheng, he noticed how tight the security at the guest house where Prince Lu Wei was staying. He sent over his men to visit Prince Lu Wei in secret; however, his men would return to him black and blue.
Ambassador Nian thought that it would be a challenge for him to bring out Prince Lu Wei from Da Cheng. He did not expect that Prince Lu Wei would look for him and announced that he wanted to return to Qian Rong.
The carriage stopped when it approached the border. Prince Lu Wei stepped down the carriage and thanked the escorting guards. Soon, he went back on the carriage with a deep breath. From then on, he will have to be on guard.
…
Jiang Xiao Tian watched as the troop sent by his brother retreated from Prince Lu Wei side and turned around towards the capital.
”Master, what should we do now?” one of the men around Jiang Xiao Tian asked.
