126 You Were Closer to Yang Yun (2/2)

Jiang Xiao Liang headed home to look for his elder brother. When he arrived at the Jiang's household, one of the servants told him that Jiang Xiao Xian entered the palace the morning and had not returned yet. Jiang Xiao Liang turned around with a sigh. Just as he was planning to return to his courtyard, Xiao Liang saw the maidservants carrying a tray of refreshment and headed towards his mother's room.

”Did someone come to visit my mother?” Jiang Xiao Liang asked.

The servant nodded. ”Lady Liu from Yang's household come to visit.”

Jiang Xiao Liang dismissed the servant and decided to come over to his mother's courtyard greet Yang Yun's mother. Once he approached Han Yunyi's courtyard, Jiang Xiao Liang could hear someone sobbed. He stopped the maidservants from notifying his arrival and stood outside. There, he listened to every word that Liu Qing Xin had said about Yang Yun.

After a few minutes of hiding and eavesdropping to the ladies conversation, Jiang Xiao Liang entered the room. He greeted the two ladies and turned to his mother. ”Mother. Tell me what is wrong with Yang Yun?”

Han Yunyi exchanged a glance with Liu Qing Xin. Then she stood up and smiled. ”Why did you come back? I thought you were supposed to return tomorrow. Have you eaten yet?”

”I had noddles with the guys,” Jiang Xiao Liang said. He helped his mother back to her seat and smiled. He quickly replaced the frown on his face with a smile as he did not want her mother to worry. ”Mother, I heard that Yang Yun hadn't been well recently, is it true?”

”Well,” Han Yunyi hesitated.

”The other guys were worried about him as well,” Jiang Xiao Liang said. ”You know that we all have served the army together at some point.”

Han Yunyi glanced at Yang Yun's mother. Once she could see that Liu Qing Xin was not uncomfortable with talking about Yang Yun, Han Yunyi began to tell her son of what was going on with Yang Yun ever since Mingyue went missing. ”Your grandfather thinks he's depressed,” Han Yunyi said after a while.

”Jiang Xiao Liang,” Liu Qing Xin called his name softly. ”I know back in the army you were closer to Yang Yun. If you can, I hope that you can visit him and give him some support.”
