75 The Wedding 2 (1/2)
Seeing nothing but the red color in front of her, Mingyue felt her heart beat faster, and her hand hidden under the sleeve sweat.
Although Mingyue always knew that she wanted to be with Yang Yun, there was a small part of her that was terrified. After all, marriage is a lifetime commitment. From now on, she will rely on her everything on Yang Yun. However, not knowing what will happen to them in the future frightened her. They were so in love with each other now, but will their feeling change later on?
Mingyue snapped out of her thought as she felt a warm hand on hers. She lowered her gaze and saw the familiar hand belongs to her mother.
”Don't be nervous,” Han Yunyi spoke as she assisted her daughter to walk. ”Take a deep breath.”
Mingyue listened to her mother's word and took a few deep breaths to calm down.
”Good girl,” Han Yunyi patted Mingyue's hands. ”Now that you're getting married, there are not many things I can say. Mingyue, mother only wish that both of you will stay together happily. The most important thing is that you two need to trust each other. No matter what obstacle you two may face later on, I hope that you two will find a way to solve it together.”
”Mother,” Mingyue pressed her lips tightly as her eyes grew misty. ”Don't worry. I will live happily with Yang Yun.”
Han Yunyi smiled. ”I've watched Yang Yun ever since your elder brother brought him home. I know that he's a good guy. He treated you well and will continue to do so later on.”
Mingyue nodded. ”I know.”
Soon, someone came and announced that the ceremony would begin.
A female elderly helped Mingyue into the palanquin while the people around her cheered and spoke more auspicious words. Although Mingyue could not see anything, she could tell that the surrounding was lively with the sound of firecrackers and drums. Mingyue closed her eyes and took another deep breath.
Then the palanquin was lifted and began to move. A procession of musicians played joyful music along the way. The onlookers outside would cheer and discuss the wedding as the palanquin passed by.
After a while, the palanquin stopped and was set down. Someone from the outside, the palanquin shouted, ”The new bride can now enter the door!”
