Chapter 88 - A Bold Thought (2/2)
“Sister Bai, you have fun here. I’m going out to lunch with some friends.”
Meng Fan gave Meng Cai Wei a heads up and left.
“Stinker, there’s so much food at home. Why go out? You don’t want to get fat with your sister? Sigh, are you eating with a girl?” Meng Cai Wei shouted. “Do you need to come home tonight? Do you need to stay here?”
Bang!
Meng Fan slammed the door!
Then without saying a word, he scurried out.
Who knew if the system would judge this as a request from someone of the opposite gender. The [Open for All] task was toxic amidst such a dialogue!
Meng Cai Wei was 7 years older than Meng Fan, so there was no guarantee that she didn’t count as a peer of similar age.
Who f*cking specified what the difference would be for one to be ‘peers’?!
He had specifically gone online to check where it said the difference was three years. Some had stated six years, while others said they had to be born in the same decade. One even went as far as to say that a twelve-year difference could still qualify one as ‘similar age’!
The System didn’t clarify, so god knows what the standard was.
He escaped downstairs, where he confirmed that the [Open for All] task did not increase in progress. He let out a long breath. Although he couldn’t confirm that a 7 year and higher difference was not part of the system’s standard, at least he now knew it was ok to escape.
He put on his hat and headed outside. One, because he didn’t have the access card and it was easier to pass through, and two, Meng Fan knew this neighborhood had an abundant amount of famous people, so there were often paparazzi lurking, waiting for opportunities.
Before, Meng Fan was always very cautious when he visited. Even if he was photographed, there would be no big news, but he didn’t want to let others, especially the ones that knew him found out that he had a superstar sister. That would bring big trouble for sure.
Now that he had the hat, Meng Fan felt light as a feather. Who could see him now!?
‘Wait!’
Meng Fan started to laugh.
“Why didn’t I think of the hat just now!”
With the hat, even if he had no money or a famous sister like Meng Cai Wei, he could easily finish the task [Group Photo God]!”
If the timing was right, he could finish the task in a day, no, an hour, or maybe 10 minutes even.
This bold idea put Meng Fan in a good mood. He didn’t need to look at Meng Cai Wei’s sour face to finish this task.
He hummed a small tune as he left the neighborhood and then hailed a taxi after taking his hat off.
…
“Hahaha, you stupid kid. Are you trying to break my door!?”
Meng Cai Wei shouted at Meng Fan after he escaped. She couldn’t help but laugh, and when he walked out of hearing range, she said to Bai Zhi, “You don’t say? He’s a lot more flexible now that he’s skinnier.”
“Yeah right, he had already crashed into the door.”
“Yeah, but look at how fast he was running! He ran into the door because my door wasn’t properly installed!”
“Kekeke, the difference is too big!”
“Baibai, little baibai.” Meng Cai Wei suddenly tackled Bai Zhi and held her hand. “I think the kid is a bit strange today. It’s very likely he went to eat with a girl. I don’t know if it’s a girl he’s into, or just regular girlfriends, or just someone he sort of likes… As a big sister, I must obtain first-hand information!”
Meng Cai Wei plastered herself next to Bai Zhi, batting her eyelashes vigorously. “I have to make sure this kid doesn’t really like this girl, Bai Bai, you’ve got to help me! Are you going to rehearsal with Qing Cen in the afternoon? This kid is Qing Sen’s diehard fan. Call him in a bit and say you’re going to rehearsal and ask if he wants to come. If he does, then it means he only sort of like her. If he refuses, then he must really like her.”
“Is this necessary? Don’t turn good intentions into bad deeds!” Bai Zhi was also speechless. “What if… little Fan was eating with guys, or he just didn’t want you to feed him?”
“A guy?!”
Meng Cai Wei looked as if she had been electrocuted, eyes sparkling. “Then I would have two little brothers!”
