Chapter 385 - Ism a little tired (1/2)

DX and Kai Xin had just arrived outside the operating theatre when Ghost was wheeled out by the nurses followed by Dr. Phillip who had an angry expression on his face.

"What the hell happened to his hand? It's a good thing that it's not as severely broken as I thought," said Dr. Philip as he walked with them towards the ICU.

"What's wrong with his hand?" asked Callum nervously as he glanced at Ghost who was unconscious on the gurney. He placed a hand on Ghost arm the entire journey.

Dr. Phillip glared at him as he snapped, "What do you think? It's me! Obviously, his hand is fine. But if it gets broken again, even I can't patch him up! Break his other body part next time!"

"Is he going to wake up soon?" asked Kai Xin when they were outside of the ICU. They watched as the nurses pushed Ghost into the room. Callum went in with them while Dr. Phillip talked to the rest outside the room.

"Not for another couple of hours. He'd be here until he wakes up. After that, the nurses would transfer him to a normal ward. Don't worry about it. The surgery is successful but I'm putting him here for observation purposes," said Dr. Phillip before he yawned loudly.

He cracked his knuckles and took off his glasses before he massaged his sore neck by himself. The surgery took 4 hours. He was in another major surgery in the morning and he had just completed the 6 hours surgery when he received the call from Han Ye.

At this moment, Dr. Phillip just wanted to sleep. So, he talked to the nurses with regard to the care before he said goodbye to the rest of them.

When Callum came out, Kai Xin told him what Dr. Phillip said.

Callum then turned to Kai Xin and said, "Sorry for making you come over for nothing."

"It's not for nothing. He's my friend," said Kai Xin with a kind smile.

Han Ye stayed at the ICU to watch over Ghost while the rest went to the cafeteria to discuss everything. DX told Callum about the things that Kai Xin and he discussed earlier.

"No. Impossible. He won't do something as stupid as that," said Callum as he shook his head.

"He would," replied both Kai Xin and Phantom in unison. They both knew how reckless Ghost could be when his brain stopped working properly.

Phantom then looked away shyly while Kai Xin explained, "He's not that careless. I'm sure that from the moment he knew that he's a target, he'd have placed safety precautions around him."

"No way. Then why didn't he tell me?"

Kai Xin shrugged, "Because he doesn't want you to interfere probably. He probably thinks that you'd be overprotective and if you placed guards around him all the time, there's no way Mrs. Luo can get to him...and he probably wanted her to get to him."

Phantom nodded and he continued on her behalf, "If I'm not wrong... Either someone has been following him from the moment he was kidnapped, or he had someone in Mrs. Luo's team of kidnappers."

"Callum, later tell Han Ye to go to the Shenlong House. Go with him and meet your cousin and pay attention to the questions that he asked. You need to start learning. Ask Shenlong Yuan for the details of how they were surrounded. Also, find out the identities of those that died during the shootout. I'm sure you don't need me to teach you how to figure it out," said DX as he raised an eyebrow at Callum.

Callum frowned, "But Guang Ying is not awake yet, and I have -"

Kai Xin interrupted him, "I'll stay here with XiAn to take care of him. Your job now is to find out Su Yan Xi's whereabouts… Keep an eye on Luo Han as well."

Even though Callum was reluctant but he knew that he had no right to say anything else. With DX here, he was kicked down to second-in-command.
