Chapter 368 - That doesnst absolve him of his guilt (1/2)
Callum was holding a bouquet of flowers while he stood at the foyer. He did not call Ghost beforehand because he wanted to surprise him.
When Ghost came down to meet him, Callum smirked, "I like to see you in T-shirt. But next time, make sure to wear them tighter so that I can see your perfect body."
Since he was lazy, Ghost wanted to stay and work from home. Instead of his usual buttoned-up shirt or polo, he was wearing a basic loose black t-shirt and a pair of YSL black joggers.
"F*ck. Off," hissed Ghost. When he saw the flowers in Callum's hand, he raised an eyebrow and asked, "Who is that for? Better not be me."
"Nah, obviously no. If my wife says no flowers, then I won't bring flowers," answered Callum. When Ghost glared at him, Callum immediately added, "This is for my future grandfather-in-law."
"Idi*t," murmured Ghost as he shook his head.
As they walked towards Grandfather Luo's room, Ghost said, "You'd have told me earlier that you are coming."
"But I like to give you surprise," said Callum. He glanced around and when he saw no one was around, he grabbed Ghost's hand.
Startled, Ghost tried to pull his hand away but Callum refused to let him go.
"What are you doing?"
"Hey, for my standards, we are moving at a very slow pace…" said Callum. He pouted and looked at Ghost with puppy dog eyes when he asked, "Are you going to deny me the joy of holding your beautiful hand?"
His answer was a swift kick to the back of his knee which caused him to buckle and fell on one knee. By instinct, he released Ghost's hand just in time so that he would not pull him down with him.
"Urgh," groaned Callum as he rubbed his sore knee. When he was still down on one knee, he suddenly thought of something and asked, "My wife, do you want me to propose now?"
Speechless, Ghost ignored him. He opened the door to his grandfather's room and went in. Callum immediately got up and went in after him.
"Ye Ye, Callum is here to meet you," said Ghost as he stood next to his grandfather's bed. Callum stood at the bottom of the bed and bowed respectfully to Grandfather Luo.
"Mr. Shenlong, I've been seeing you around quite often," said Grandfather Luo as Ghost helped him sit up on the bed.
"Ah, yes. Guang Ying and I are best friends now," said Callum. When Grandfather Luo turned to look at Ghost, Callum winked at him and made a kissy face.
Ghost had a horrified look on his face as he looked at Callum's idiotic behavior. When Grandfather Luo saw it, he immediately whipped his head around only to find Callum smiling politely at him.
He was confused as he looked to and fro between the two young men.
"Ah!" Callum suddenly called out. He raised the bouquet of flowers and said, "This is for you, sir."
Grandfather Luo nodded and asked Ghost to help him place the flowers in the jade vase that was on his dresser. When Ghost was arranging the flowers that he had placed in the jade vase, Grandfather Luo asked Callum to sit down next to him so that he could talk to him without hurting his neck.
He had meant for Callum to pull a chair over but Callum just sat on the bed. Even though it surprised Grandfather Luo, he quickly got over it and asked, "How's President Du?"
Callum glanced at Ghost before he looked back at Grandfather Luo. With a smile, he said, "My brother is fine. He's at home with his wife now."
Grandfather Luo nodded, "Good. I hope she's fine."
Ghost sat on the other side of his grandfather's bed and sighed, "Ye Ye… Don't..."
The old man shook his head slowly before saying, "I won't ask Mr. Shenlong to help me plead for your cousins' freedom. What they did was horrible and they deserved the punishments. However…"
