Chapter 338 - Enough is enough... (1/2)

Once the Board of Directors' Meeting ended, DX, Kai Xin, and Han Ye headed straight to the hospital. Wu Yue Xue was safely back in her ward and was being guarded by Head Manager Han who stood firm right in front of her door.

He was the leader of the team that went for the rescue mission. When he saw them, Head Manager Han moved aside to allow them to enter.

Nurse Chen Ying, the nurse who partook in the kidnapping of Wu Yue Xue, was stripped off her role and handed over to the police to be dealt with.

When DX offered to find another nurse for Han Ye, the latter had shaken his head.

"I can't keep doing this…" said Han Ye. He sat next to Wu Yue Xue's bed. There was a little dirt on her face and he reached over her to grab the wet tissue that was on the nightstand. As he wiped her face clean, he said with a heavy tone, "As long as she's here, she would continue to be my weakest link…"

"We don't have to do this. I can place her at a better hospital. I'm sure she'd be safe in a military hospital," said DX in a serious tone. On the way to the hospital, Han Ye informed them that he was ready to let her go and DX kept thinking about the things that he could have done for his assistant.

Having found a person that he loved, DX knew that it would be a cruel decision for Han Ye to make, both for himself and for Wu Yue Xue. When he thought about Kai Xin being in Wu Yue Xue's situation, DX found himself to be unable to even think about it much less acted upon it.

DX, Kai Xin, and Head Manager Han stood aside while Han Ye talked to his wife.

"My wife...My beautiful wife...Were you scared earlier? I'm sorry…" murmured Han Ye. He took his wife's hand and kissed it softly before adding, "You'd have hated me if I hurt an innocent baby...That's you...You're always kind towards others…"

He pulled her up into a hug and whispered, "You know I love you, right?"

As usual, there was no response. Ever since the beginning, Han Ye had known that the possibility of Wu Yue Xue ever waking up was almost zero. He knew that he was being stubborn by holding on but he could not let her go. Up until this event, he had no idea how easy he could be manipulated by others.

DX had been kind towards him and he did not want to place DX's children in anymore danger. Over the years, Han Ye knew that DX had helped him a lot. There was no reason why DX should help him but he did.

Their agreement was for DX to get the man who placed Wu Yue Xue in this situation and that Han Ye would work for him for 10 years. However, DX went further and he provided Wu Yue Xue with the best care without asking for anything back in return. He even managed to convince Wu Yue Xue's parents to give their daughter away to Han Ye.

Her parents had wanted to take her off life-support after the first year but Han Ye refused to let them do so. He kept believing that she would wake up one day. When her parents threatened to take him to court, DX stepped in and settled things off with them.

Due to DX's help, he managed to get 10 more years with Wu Yue Xue. Han Ye smiled as he looked at Wu Yue Xue's sleeping face. She had had the same expression on her face for the past 10 years. It was as if she was in a peaceful sleep.

As he placed her down on the bed carefully, he whispered, "Enough is enough…"
