Chapter 263 - No problem (1/2)

Song Qiao's smile froze on her face as she thought, "He's doing this for her..."

She saw the hickeys on his neck and sighed. A mixture of sadness and anger swirled within her as she was sure that they were not there earlier. It means that he got it after he returned home today.

"Why? She did this to me, so why do you still choose her? Why do you still let her touch you?" thought Song Qiao sadly.

Seething with anger that Kai Xin dared to place her mouth on him, she placed her hands underneath the blanket and clenched her fists so tightly that the nails dug into her palm.

As she looked at him, she thought, "What is so great about her? Why can't you look at me instead?"

After a few seconds of silence, DX called out, "Qiao Qiao?"

When she heard him calling her, Song Qiao snapped out of her thoughts. With a smile, she shook her head before saying, "Sorry, I was distracted earlier...Yeah...There's nothing to forgive. It was just an accident. I'm sure that she didn't mean it."

DX gave her a half smile before placing the knife aside along with the plate filled with sliced apples. Once he wiped his hands down using a clean towel kept inside the drawer of the stand, he reached over to pat her head.

In a soft voice, he thanked her and while he passed another slice of the peeled apple to her, he added, "That's great then. Kai Xin is not a bad person...Qiao Qiao, during the press conference tomorrow, I hope you can tell everyone the truth."

Taking the slice of apple from him, Song Qiao nodded. Once she was done, DX urged her to finish the rest of the apple slices.

As he placed the plate on her lap, he said, "Don't worry about me. I ate before I came..."

She ate the apple slices slowly as if she was savoring it. It was the first time that DX offered her food that he prepared himself.

Ever since she was young, her father repeatedly told her that she would be the future wife of DX and he made sure that she was capable enough to work alongside the DX.

As a result, he had always been the apple of her eyes ever since she was a little girl. However, he had always kept a distance from her. She was a lovely child but he would never carry her up or placed her in his laps. He was always busy with the friends of his and barely paid any attention to her even when his mother told him to play with her.

DX's cold attitude towards her made her worked harder in everything she does. She hoped that one day he would be able to see her as the only person who could be his wife.
