Chapter 222 - Twins Birthday (9) (1/2)

Jiang Cheng was watching the scene unfold when he recognized someone from the corner of his eyes.

"Alyssa..." Jiang Cheng thought as he felt a sharp pain as if someone stabbed him in the heart.

Alyssa was leaning against a well-kept middle-aged man who had an arm wrapped around her waist while the two of them watched the battle between Old Madam Du versus Kai Xin.

When Old Madam Du left the stage, Jiang Cheng watched as Alyssa pulled her fist back as if she was cheering for Kai Xin.

Alyssa turned to the man and whispered something into his ears that made him laughed. He whispered something back before he reached behind her and pinched her backside.

Unable to watch anymore, Jiang Cheng turned and walked away.

When she felt the pinch, Alyssa yelped and turned around.

She thought she saw Jiang Cheng but when she looked around she did not see him.

"He's working tonight...There is no way he would be here..." thought Alyssa.

She then turned to the man, Leon Choon and glared at him as she snapped, "Don't ever do that again! I'm just here as your friend!"

Leon Choon smirked, "You used to love it when I tease you like that."

"No. I used to pretend to like it because you were paying me a sh*tload of money..."

"Come on, Alyssa...For old times sake, how about you be my baby again?" pleaded Leon Choon with a pout.

Ignoring him, Alyssa folded her arms and walked off. After a few steps, she turned and said in an annoyed tone of voice, "I know what you said to your friends..."

"About what?" asked Leon Choon innocently.

Alyssa glanced down towards her private area angrily and then sneered at him, "You know what I'm talking about!"

Her gesture reminded him of a drunken talk session with his friends and he immediately raised his arms in defeat, "In my defense, I was drunk! And it was on the day you ended things with me! Until now, you never tell me why!"

Alyssa glanced around to make sure that no one was listening before hissing at him, "Cause I found out that you were sleeping with three other women at the same time! You idiot!"

She scoffed inwardly at her pathetic self. That day, she came back earlier from a visit to her old orphanage.

After spending two days in her old town, she missed her lover and she wanted to give him a surprise. However, when she went into his high-end apartment, she found a few sets of high heels that did not belong to her.

Then, the loud giggles that came from the master bedroom caught her attention and she slowly made her way towards the room.

When she took a peek, she saw Leon Choon with three other women in incriminating positions. Their moans were ricocheting off the walls and she saw that the man was enjoying his amorous companions without any guilt.

More than shock, she felt betrayed.

Just a week ago, he told that she was the only one in his life and like an idiot, she believed his words. He was the first man who treated her with respect and even though it was against the rule of their relationship, she fell in love with him.

When she saw the scene, even though it hurt, Alyssa closed the door quietly. She took a deep breath and picked up her stuff before leaving the place. Once she was in the safety of a hotel room that she paid using cash, she then sent him an email to let him know that she wanted to end everything with him.

"No..." Leon Choon went wide-eyed when he realized that he had literally been caught with his pants down. All these while, he had been wondering why and for quite some time after she ended their relationship, he had blamed her for it.

"Alyssa... I can explain!" said the man as he tried to think of a good explanation. He took a bet from his friends and they convinced him that it would be fine as long as she did not find out about it. Hence, he did it. If he knew that she was there, he would have never done it.

"Don't bother!" snapped Alyssa as she gave him a middle finger before turning away and head into the mansion.

"I can't believe I came for a mere $10,000! I should have charged the idiot a higher sum!" murmured Alyssa as she went into the kitchen to get a glass of water.

When she went to the kitchen, she saw a familiar back facing her. She had been watching the same back while he prepared meals for her for the past few weeks.

"Jiang Cheng?"

When he heard her voice, he froze. He then turned around. With a platter filled with glasses of champagne on his hands, he asked with a forced smile, "Miss, would you like a glass of champagne?"

Head Manager Han often berated him whenever he found it hard to control his emotions. Jiang Cheng knew that if the man saw him, he would be utterly disappointed in him.

"Jiang Cheng... What are you doing here? I thought you are working."

"Miss, I'm a server here for tonight..." said Jiang Cheng tersely.

"Why are you referring to me as 'Miss'?" asked Alyssa. She was confused by his change of behavior. Recalling that she saw a glimpse of him earlier, she asked worriedly, "Did you see anything earlier? It's nothing! There's nothing between me and Leon!"

She tried to touch him but the younger man took a step back before saying in a detached voice, "I'm sorry, miss. I need to go back to work. There are still plenty of guests around. Maybe you'd go back to your date."

Meanwhile, DX excused himself from the stage as he brought Kai Xin to the side. Ignoring everyone else, the two stood underneath a huge oak tree that was heavily decorated with fairy lights.

"Mama!" Caleb yelled as he reached for her. He had been missing her the entire night. Tian Le said that she was here but none of the kids saw her.

Chuckling, Kai Xin took him away from DX and she massaged one of his arms while saying, "Poor DX. I heard that you have been carrying him for more than an hour. Your arms must be sore!"

"I'm fine..." said DX. He took her hand and kissed her palm before saying, "I'm taking this as a practice. When we have a daughter, I would never let her go."

Kai Xin laughed and playfully slapped him on the chest. She then looked at Caleb and signed, "How do you know that it's me? I'm wearing a mask!"
