Jack frowned and asked, "So, what's your point?"

"My point is, if I had gone after the woman as per what the fortune teller wanted me to, I'd have missed out on meeting K, the love of my life. That's why you should wait."

"How do you know that he's the love of your life? I love Ms. Lily! She's the love of my life!"

DX thought about it seriously before answering his son,

"You'd know that you love her when her safety is more important to you than your own safety and you just want to envelop her in your embrace to protect her from everything..."

"...You'd know that you love her when the thought of seeing her, or just the thought of her itself makes your day brighter..."

"She would constantly be in your mind... when you go to bed and when you are awake....When she's upset, you'd feel worse and when she's happy, you'd feel happy as well...."

"And you know that you love her when you are willing to do silly and stupid things that you've never done before with others... "

Jack gasped, "That sounds like a lot of work!"

Thinking about the cryptic message earlier, DX continued.

However this time, his voice was tinted with a hint of uncertainty,

"It's when you know that she is lying to you...and yet you are still be unable to confront her because you are afraid of the answer."

Jack heard the change of tone in his father's voice and he asked worriedly, "Are you alright, Dad? Is everything going well with K?"

DX smiled. Jack who was the most vocal about his rejection of Kai Xin was actually worried about his relationship with 'K'.

Patting his son's head lightly, DX said, "I'm fine...If you are clear about your feelings for Ms. Lily now, then eat your dinner and go to bed. Otherwise you are going to be grumpy again tomorrow."

Jack nodded, "Love sounds like too much work. I'll see if I want to do that for her next week."

DX ordered the maids to bring a fresh batch of pancakes for Jack.

While they were waiting, Jack yawned before asking, "Dad...Lyle. He has been having a hard time at school lately."

"I know. He told me. K and I are trying to solve this. How about you?"

Jack shook his head, "I'm fine. No one dares to pick on me because they are afraid of Lyle. However, he still doesn't like it when they talked behind our backs."

DX nodded, "Take care of your older brother. I believe in the two of you."

"Dad..." murmured Jack as he glanced at his toes, "About Lyle's 'Mummy', where is she? Can I see her?"

"Do you want to?"

"Not really. I don't know her..."

He looked at his father and sighed,

"Lyle used to talk about her but lately he stopped. I'm worried about him. If you know his Mummy, can you tell her to visit him? I won't stop her from doing so."

DX smiled, "Maybe if the two of you combined your birthday wishes, then it might come true."

Jack frowned, "Dad, I'm 10 and I'm turning 11 soon. Don't treat me like a baby!"

"I don't know, Jack. There might be magic powder floating around on your birthday. After all, it's Halloween themed. Who knows what kind of magical creatures would come out?"
