Chapter 128 - You are not worthy (1/2)

Ever since she overheard the girls, Kai Xin had been finding excuse to work late almost every night for the past two weeks.

She noticed that Richard Lee worked late almost every other night. However, she noticed that his behavior was weirder than usual.

At around 9 p.m. every night, he would go to the staircase and when he came back, he would be covered in sweat.

Whenever she asked if he was alright, he would ignore her.

Kai Xin yawned and stretched out. She decided to head home earlier since nothing was happening and she had barely slept for the past few days.

When she was halfway down, she realized that she left her phone and went back up. She noticed that the door to the staircase was left ajar.

Curious, she decided to take a look and see what the HR Manager was doing there.

Walking quietly, she checked up to two floors above and below her but there was nobody there.

Just as she was about to leave the staircase, she heard a shuffling sound coming close from behind her.

When she turned, she was about to strike out when she saw that it was John Warwick, the Head of Accounts.

They had been chatting quite often so she smiled when she saw him.

"John! What are you doing here?"

The man shrugged, "I was smoking. You? I thought I saw you left earlier?"

"I came back to get my things and when I saw the door opened, I thought maybe I should check it out."

"Do you want to get a drink? I'm buying."

Kai Xin shrugged, "Yeah, I can have some."

They went to a hidden bar not far from the office building.

John kept topping her drink whenever she was about to finish. After around three cans worth of beer, Kai Xin started to slur in her speech.

She grinned stupidly at John and said, "I have to...*hiccup*...go home now."

As he helped her up, John grinned, "Yeah, sure. I'll send you."

However, instead of home, he brought her to a hotel.

When he was checking them in, Kai Xin giggled, "Am I home now?"

"I'm bringing you to a better place."

She leaned against him and complained, "I'm tired..."

He smiled and said, "It's OK. You can sleep soon..."

John brought her to the room and helped her to the bed.

As he glanced down on her body and her skirt which was accidentally pulled up, "I'll take a shower first, okay?"

Kai Xin giggled and nodded. She turned over and slept.
