Chapter 1047: The Cruelest Truth (1/2)
These Imperial Emperors delivered the killing blows based on each others’ weaknesses. They managed to kill their targets but their targets killed them too!
Feng Mingshan sat in the puddle of blood, looking blankly at the perfect mirror-like innate dragon scale. His eyes were filled with nothing but pure terror.
Unlike Feng Yulan and the others, he was too weak. The Imperial Emperors didn’t deign to take a puny figure like him into consideration and so he survived.
Feng Mingshan felt a shiver run down his spine. There was no danger whatsoever in this stage, even the innate dragon scale itself didn’t have any power. Yet, this stage had caused the greatest loss to the expedition team, having killed all of the Imperial Emperors trained by the hegemons like the Evil Monarch, Dark Monarch, and Demon Monarch!
In front of the innate dragon scale, they had all turned into devils!
Naturally, Feng Wuji survived too.
Feng Yulan and the Imperial Emperors aimed at the stronger ones, those that were threatening. And in comparison, Feng Mingshan, Feng Wuji was relatively weaker and punier; thus, they survived.
In front of the innate dragon scale, someone slowly stood up. They then suddenly turned into a flash of light and disappeared inside of the dragon scale’s slit.
Zhong Yue and Hundun Yu walked over and glanced at the bodies on the floor. Du Ya, Gao Yin, and the rest were all considered major figures. If they were in the Zi Wei Galaxy, they would be at the pinnacle of Imperial Emperors.
Yet here and now, they were dead in front of the innate dragon scale. All six of them together at once, it was as if Imperial Emperors were so common that they could be seen everywhere.
They weren’t stupid, even Feng Wuji couldn’t have tricked them. But it was because of their cunningness that they directed themselves to death.
The innate dragon scale reflected all of their weaknesses, but they were belonging to different sides and were usually hostiles.
When their weaknesses were made known to the others and the others’ weaknesses made known to them, the only thing they would’ve done was to quickly kill those who knew!
Because if they didn’t, then others would kill them!
There were still stages ahead of them, it was natural to assume they would be in many more dangerous positions. As no one would know when the others would deliver the killing blow to him in time to come, the easiest solution was to kill those who knew their weaknesses.
This was a decent plan, but with everyone having the same plan, it resulted in mutually assured destruction.
“We are the only ones left in the Ancestral Court,” Zhong Yue said as Feng Wuji’s scalps tingled.
He receded two steps back and smiled, “Mister Yi, I didn’t bring you troubles this time, there is no reason for you to kill me, is there?”
Zhong Yue smiled gently, he didn’t look at Feng Wuji but proceeded walking toward the slit while replying languidly, “You don’t seek troubles, I won’t give troubles. Senior Martial Brother Feng’s name is still something I will honor.”
Feng Wuji heaved a breath of relief, he looked at the innate dragon scale and saw Zhong Yue’s and Hundun Yu’s reflections. Rays flashed in his eyes as he tried to find Zhong Yue’s weaknesses in the reflections.
Suddenly, Zhong Yue stopped, he stood in front of the dragon scale and allowed Feng Wuji to look. Then, he smiled, “Seen enough?”
Feng Wuji’s face changed slightly, he swiftly answered, “I have no ill intentions!”
Zhong Yue didn’t turn around but shook his head, “Don’t you worry, I won’t kill you now. I’ve been constantly searching for an excuse to kill you. Thus, I will let you take a clear look, I will present you with the chance to kill me. You can go ahead and remember all my flaws and weaknesses, you can even write them down. I won’t mind.”
Feng Wuji was puzzled while Zhong Yue continued, “The flaws and weaknesses you see now, I wanted you to see them. The next time we meet, they will be no more and when you have gathered enough courage to kill me, you will be dead for sure.”
Feng Wuji didn’t dare to say anything, he also didn’t dare to look at the innate dragon scale anymore.
Zhong Yue smiled gently, he and Hundun Yu entered the innate dragon scale’s slit and went past the stage.
Feng Mingshan was there, still sitting in the dirt. It was too huge a blow to him. His senior martial siblings were all dead, having all died in the Fuxi’s Ancestral Court.
Before the expedition, they all received Feng Tian Origin Lord’s private lessons and were filled with confidence, but now…
His Senior Martial Sister Yulan who was like a mother figure to him was dead.
Why would it happen?
If Feng Tian Origin Lord knew that this place was so precarious, why would they still be sent out?
The innate dragon scale was like a huge eye, glaring at them as if it were criticizing them for being weak, that it didn’t even need to use anything to kill them, and that just a mirror alone would be enough.
Feng Mingshan was dumbstruck, and suddenly, Feng Yulan’s corpse moved!
“Senior martial sister! Are you still alive?”
Feng Mingshan was surprised and overjoyed, but he was shocked to see Feng Yulan’s corpse levitating up from the ground. A wave of terrifyingly powerful energy billowed out of his body and suffused the surrounding air!
Her neck was broken, and her spirit and soul was extinguished, but a phoenix feather flew out from her forehead, flying around her neck and reconnecting the wound.
Feng Mingshan’s body shivered and he lowered his head.
That wasn’t his Senior Martial Sister Yulan, he could recognize the phoenix feather, it belonged to their grand ancestor Feng Tian Origin Lord.
