Chapter 594 - Death By One Strike (2/2)
Right at that moment, an appalling aura stagnated the air around as the Golden Feathery Peng Swords were spewed out from the Divine Wing Saber, a golden sphere of hundred miles wide was formed around Zhong Yue!
The godly spirits were swallowed by the swarming golden swords; hollers of anger, cries of fear, and groans of pain, all kinds of noises resounded from the golden sphere while the godly spirits were dismembered within it.
Faraway from the battlefield, Feng Wuji rushed to the Kun Peng altar and shouted at the Kun Peng Celestial Race experts, "Quick, stop the worships!"
Cold sweat rolled down the experts' head, but no one listened to him. If they stopped the worship now, their grand ancestor Lord Kun would be reduced into nothingness and cease to exist anymore, just how could they possibly stop?
Krong—
In just the blink of an eye, the golden swords have bolted back into the Divine Wing Saber, leaving a floor of shattered godly spirits laying powerlessly in the sky.
As soon as the golden swords were kept away, the godly spirits have flashed out in all domains.
Zhong Yue quickly let go of the saber and cast out the copper lamp, surging all of his arcane energy into it as he captures the shattered godly spirits into the space inside the copper lamp.
"Young child of the Zhong Shan Clan, know the limit and the furthest extent you can go, there are things you can do at will, and things that can't be overdone." Lord Dragon suddenly said, his voice was clear and placid, "If you have captured every godly spirit in the West Barren, then there will be no place in this world that can contain you anymore, even the two gods of West Barren will start hunting you down."
Zhong Yue's heart sterned up, he opened a small gap on the copper lamp lid and released some of the godly spirits. These godly spirits have returned to their respective altars and left with their clansmen without even turning back or stalling for a single second.
"Zhong Shan Clan member, you have my respect, and you have passed the test!" one of the surviving godly spirits said before speeding away.
Feng Wuji's faces changed drastically, he stamped his feet and also left.
Clan Master Xia, Zhurong Yanqin and the others fighting with the human experts quickly receded back and left as well.
The development of the battle situation was too sudden, from Bai Canghai returning the Pure Yang Qi to Zhong Yue, till the surviving godly spirits conceding defeat and left the Divine Battlefield, it only took just a few moments' time!
Meanwhile, Bai Canghai and Bai Zhenbei still haven't travel far from the mountains, they were dazed by the end of the battle, and bolted away with all their strength, "Run! Run! Run!"
In just seconds, the two of them have disappeared into the horizon with their hearts still palpitating in fear.
Bai Canghai initially just wanted to help out Zhong Yue in holding some time longer with returning him the Pure Yang Qi, but has never foreseen all of the sudden changes in the battle situation that was caused by that one surge of Pure Yang Qi!
"If the West Barren found out I am the one that gave Senior Martial Brother Zhong that Pure Yang Qi, they'd hunt me down for sure…" Bai Canghai's face was pallid like snow as he lamented in his heart.
Once again, the Divine Battlefield embraced peacefulness. Zhong Yue's aura plummeted like a cascading waterfall, and he mumbled, "Now, I guess the West Barren gods won't be coming for me…"
Lord Dragon answered placidly, "With me here, they won't dare to."
Zhong Yue mustered his last strength and straightened his body, he bowed solemnly and thanked, "Thank you for helping me, Lord Dragon."
Lord Dragon shook and said, "No, I'm not here to help. In fact, you are the one that helped me in defeating Lord Kun. I am just repaying you for that."
Zhong Yue nodded softly, he closed the lamp lid tight. Lord Dragon looked at the copper lamp, his eyes were filled with puzzlements, but left without any asking of its origin.
Finally, Zhong Yue couldn't have hold any longer, his vision turned pitch black and he collapsed toward the ground.
Jun Sixie, Fang Jiange, Shui Zian, and everyone else rushed over, they lifted him up with their arcane energy and found Zhong Yue still opening his eyes wide while gritting on his teeth to prevent himself from falling into the deep abyss of no return.
He eyes were already crippled, they couldn't see anymore. He was just forcing them open with his strong willpower so to make himself staying awake.
Jun Sixie and the others quickly inspected on his injuries, and they all turned silent in seriousness.
This was it, all it takes was just the last breath for him to die.
Unlike before, this time, his injuries were beyond recoverable. The battle took every last bit of energy in him, his life force, his blood essence, his arcane energy, his psyche, everything. Now, he was devoid of life force, his mortal body was barely holding in shape, and his Yuan Shen was nearly shattering; even the divine herbs couldn't have salvage him from death.
Worse, their arcane energy couldn't even enter his body and help him in suppressing the wounds. This was because of the incompatibility of their arcane energy, Zhong Yue has walked on a unique cultivation path of his own, his arcane energy was unlike any other and would autonomously repel any other arcane energies.
Furthermore, his mortal body was far too weak to even bear with any violent movements anymore, even the medicinal efficacies of the divine herb would cause a havoc within his body!
"His injuries…" Shui Zian's face was white like snow as if he has grown a few years older in an instant as he said sorrowfully, "He is… beyond remediable…"
"Why didn't he faint still?" it was rare to hear Fang Jiange asking a question, "Why is he trying to keep awake, even at the last few moments of his life?"
Just as he asked, Long Yue and Mister Bo Xun could be seen bolting over like an arrow, morphing into the Great Sun Demon Crow and Star Toad True Spirit seconds before gushing into Zhong Yue's body.
Right as they diffused away into his body, Zhong Yue finally closed his eyes and fell unconscious.
"Junior Martial Brother Zhong, how stunning!" Fang Jiange was dawned, and praised sincerely.
Zhong Yue was keeping himself awake was so that he could salvage himself from death's fingers. At this state he was in, no one else could have saved him other than himself; his arcane energy repels all the other arcane energies, and his Yuan Shen and mortal body couldn't have withstood any medicinal efficacies as well. Only his incarnations who were from the same origin and essentially parts of himself could have pulled him back alive!
The crowd waited for a few days until his condition was stabilized a little more before they meticulously transport him back to the Great Wilderness.
One day, Zhong Yue tardily opened his eyes and regained conscious, he glanced around and found himself surrounded by strange looking plantations. These plants were brownish yellow and bore tiny, plump seeds.
"What… are these?" he asked puzzlingly.
Jun Sixie who was walking in front heard him asking, she turned her head and a bright smile bloomed on her face as she answered, "Millet, one of the five grains."
Zhong Yue raised his head up and saw an endless field planted with various grain crops with many commoners reaping the crops. This time, he laid back down and slept with a smile on his face.
