Chapter 560 - City of Nature (1/2)

What was front of him was a mountain ridge purely formed by divine gold. Everything, even the stones and rocks on the ground were just different kinds of divine gold.

The mountain ridge was like vein of a dormant earth dragon.

"Oh my.…" Zhong Yue sucked in a deep breath. With the amount of divine gold visible on the ground, the amount that was hidden underground could be imagined.

If it were all to be mined, how many weapons could be forged from it!

Even as a conservative estimate, the amount would be enough to equip all Swords Gate Qi Practitioners with a divine weapon!

"How could there be so much divine gold? If it was all brought back to Swords Gate…"

Zhong Yue breathed heavily and quickly calmed himself down. Even with his considerable amount of knowledge and experience, he was still shocked by what he had just seen.

"From the past until now, countless Qi Practitioners and gods must've come and gone. Why hasn't anyone found this divine gold?"

He calmed himself down and opened all three of his divine eyes and looked down. But his vision could only penetrate a mile deep.

"Are the divine gold ores obstructing my vision?" Zhong Yue mumbled as he thought. He walked to the front of a small hill made of divine gold and cut out a piece of the divine gold with his Golden Peng Sword to inspect it.

"Hmm? The divine gold here seems, different…" he frowned as he inspected the divine gold in his hand. He raised his other hand and took out another piece from his Yuan Shen secret realms and compared the two.

Both pieces of divine golds were engraved with the totem patterns. But the difference was that the one in his Yuan Shen secret realms had more visible totem patterns and a stronger spiritual energy than the one from this place.

"It seems like the spiritual energy in this piece of divine gold is fading away, its value has greatly deteriorated, nearly turning into normal mystic gold."

Zhong Yue then threw it away. He walked another few steps and cut out another piece to compare it to a piece from his Yuan Shen secret realms, soon arriving at the same conclusion as the earlier sample

Strange, the divine gold here is abundant, but their value isn't particularly high. It seems like something is siphoning the spiritual energy away from them.

Zhong Yue thought,  But even so, the cumulative value here is still not insignificant. A thousand pieces of this divine gold can be refined into one piece of pure divine gold, this place is still a precious resource. Why hasn't anyone come to claim before?

Soon after, he found the path in front of him scattered with skeletons. Zhong Yue was shocked to find that the skeletons were from various races, densely paved across the floor!

He looked further and saw the skeletons fully covering the path in front, they were everywhere!

Furthermore, he saw an old and abandoned mining site not far away from here. Clearly, there were Qi Practitioners that found this place and were mining already. But something happened in between that caused the deaths of these Qi Practitioners.

Zhong Yue lowered his head and inspected the skeletons. There were any visible traces that were left on the skeletons, as though they weren't brutally killed, but died of curses instead.

What's more strange is that all of these skeletons are going toward the same direction. It means that whatever happened, it occurred so quickly before anyone else could reacted to it. They were all running out but none could made it out before it happened.

Zhong Yue calmed himself and walked forward further. There were even more skeletons ahead, piling up like hills and little mountains. Some were the demons, some celestials, there were also some skeletons from the Bai Zhe Clan and even the insect race!

But the human skeletons were the ones that outnumbered every other race. After all, the humans were often enslaved by the other races, it wasn't a surprise that they would be sent here to work as miners.

Not long later, nearly over a hundred huge dragon skeletons appeared in front of him. These dragon skeletons were about a few thousand feet long from head to tail.

Then, he saw the huge Peng and huge Kun skeletons, they were really large.

"They are at least at the True Spirit level!" Zhong Yue sucked in a cold breath of air and grew even more cautious. Even these True Spirit magnates had not a single impression on their bones, whatever happened here was on a higher-level than what the True Spirit magnates could withstand.

Mother Da Zhen's traces!

Suddenly, he caught a glimpse of the traces left behind by Mother Da Zhen and quickly rushed forward.

Tracing Mother Da Zhen's trail, he suddenly remembered something he was oblivious of before and quivered in terror,  The spiritual energy! All of these skeletons don't have any spiritual energy in them!

There were many dead Qi Practitioners in here, surely some of them would be strong enough to have engraved totem patterns into their bones. That way, even after they were dead, there would still be a faint flow of spiritual energy lingering in their skeletons!

Yet, none of the skeletons Zhong Yue had saw any totem patterns engraved on them. All of the totem patterns were wiped away and their spiritual energies were seemingly robbed!

Furthermore, these Qi Practitioners would have brought many soul weapons with them, but Zhong Yue had yet to see any of them!

Zhong Yue suddenly stopped, he noticed an odd protrusion of dust on the ground. Immediately, he squinted his eyes and looked at it. It looked like the tip of a soul weapon, like a saber sheath. He reached his hand out and held on it but the saber sheath turned into dust right as his fingertips touched it.
