Chapter 291 - Celestial Emperor Bi Xie (1/2)
To be able to realize that I have yet to use my full strength, this Bi Xie indeed has his own strength. Also, with the addition of the Celestial Emperor's heritage, he might prove himself a formidable foe!
Zhong Yue then looked away and memorized Bi Xie's name in his mind.
There were not many names on the Godlike Board, only about two to three thousand of them but Bi Xie was not among them. However, after having a brief conversation with Bi Xie, Zhong Yue had gotten a grasp of his behaviors, and it came as no surprise to Zhong Yue the reason Bi Xie was not on the Godlike Board.
In Bi Xie's mind, reputation or fame was no longer his concern. What mattered most was the opponents he faced.
And up until now, he had not encountered anyone he deemed worthy, and as such, his name did not even appear in the Warrior and Godlike Board.
He was completely different from Jiao Qingtu. Unlike Jiao Qingtu who held himself back in the name of fame, by ostentatiously revealing his strength to everyone. Bi Xie only had his opponents in his eyes.
Thus, Zhong Yue's advancement into the Godlike Board had drawn his interest, and he only showed up because of that. Bi Xie however, immediately back off. He didn't want to have an advantage over Zhong Yue as he wanted to see Zhong Yue full power.
And an opponent like that was the most terrifying!
"Senior martial brother, our Senior Martial Brother Bai is so amusing! Each time he says someone is strong, that someone would definitely end up losing," said Qiu Jin'er with a laugh.
Bai Canghai's face turned red to Qiu Jin'er's comments, and he kept coughing, pretending to be oblivious to what she was saying.
Zhong Yue then said gravely, "The Baizhe Clan of the North Barren knows almost everything. Senior Martial Brother Bai knows the details of the others but not mine, which was why his predictions were always wrong. In the end, it was due to his lack of information, rather than his capabilities."
As soon as Zhong Yue voiced out his opinion, Bai Canghai felt so much better, and he greeted Zhong Yue, "Pardon me for my rudeness. Canghai knew nothing of Brother Zhong's capabilities, and it was only now that I finally realize that you indeed live up to your illustrious fame. Please forgive me for what I said just now."
Un until now, the Zhong Li Celestial Race had yet to reopen the exit, so all of them could only stay in the Lesser Void World. Zhong Yue and Bai Canghai continued their conversation while Qiu Jin'er listened quietly, but she got more and more surprised as she listened.
Bai Canghai was indeed a knowledgeable person. He had the information of the techniques from various races in his head; their effects, power, and even their weaknesses were not unknown to him!
Other than that, he was like a walking encyclopedia as he not only knew about the techniques of the other races, but he even knew their innate talents and weaknesses!
Initially, Qiu Jin'er viewed him lightly, but as Bai Canghai continued conversing with Zhong Yue, her perspective on this seemingly unreliable guy began to change.
The only reason he made a mistake was that he had no idea of Zhong Yue's abilities; he looked Zhong Yue thinking that he cultivated the techniques of Swords Gate and reverse-opened the five wheels through the Swords Gate's methods.
Little did he know that Zhong Yue cultivated [Sui Sovereign Flame Order Palace Visualization Art] that was given to him by Xin Huo. Saying it was different from the Swords Gate's techniques would be quite an understatement.
But the more Bai Canghai learned about senior martial brother, the more he dares not fight with senior martial brother. From that, knowing too much may not be a good thing I guess. The more he knows, the more scared he gets.
Suddenly, Zhong Yue lowered down his voice and said, "Brother Bai, do you happen to know anything about the Devil Soul Forbidden Land under Swords Gate?"
Bai Canghai hesitated and whispered, "We Bai Family did know a little bit about that, but this is a big matter. It's not good for me to discuss it…."
"Can you talk a little about it?" whispered Zhong Yue.
Bai Canghai hesitated again and said, "The Devil Soul Forbidden Land exists not only under your Swords Gate but under many other places. There's one under the Xiao Mang Celestial Temple in the West Barren, the Tianhou Palace of the Zhong Li Celestial Race, the Xian Kong Saint City in the East Barren and even under we Baihou Celestial Temple."
Although Zhong Yue already knew the answer, he was still shocked by the reply of Bai Canghai, and he quickly asked, "Brother Bai, the Devil Soul Forbidden Land is a place to nurture and nourish the saint spirits. The five Devil Soul Forbidden Lands you mentioned just now each already has their own saint spirit, but I have no idea about the mastermind behind all of these."
"So you knew huh?"
Bai Canghai was shocked, and he felt relieved after that. He then said, "Then it's fine if I told you what I know since you know about this already. Throughout these five million years dwelling in the North Barren, our Baizhe Clan records many pieces of ancient histories, but there hasn't been one proper, accurate recording of the Devil Soul Forbidden Land apart from some guesses…."
He stopped for a while and put out serious expression. He whispered in an even lower tone, "Our ancestors made an assumption that apart from the Eastern Sea and overseas, the tomb is connected to the five barrens, and that the tombs under the five barrens are sacrificial tombs. Not the main tomb. Judging by the size and standard of these tombs, the main tomb is probably the tomb of a celestial emperor or Heavenly Monarch. However, a few days ago when I checked the Heavenly Monarch Residence and the hidden mausoleum, I realized that the monarch mausoleum was extremely grand and had a higher standard. As such, I assume that the main tomb under the five barrens is at most a celestial emperor level tomb…."
"A celestial emperor's tomb?"
Zhong Yue was confused, and he asked, "Why is Senior Martial Brother Bai speaking so softly?"
Upon hearing that, Bai Canghai said in an even lower tone, "My assumption is too shocking, if my assumption is made known to everyone, I fear that it will cause a major uproar. I went through all of the history books of our Bai Family and studied the history of the other races, and I discovered something interesting. I found out that the celestial races of the West Barren including the Zhong Li and Baizhe Celestial Race only had a history of five million years, which suggest that our races only appeared five million years ago. From that, we can assume that the celestial emperor left five million years ago."
Zhong Yue and Qiu Jin'er were confused as they had no idea how did all of these were related to the celestial emperor that conquered this place five million years ago.
"Look at these bones."
Bai Canghai took out a few shattered bones that Zhong Yue felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity with, as if they shared the same origins as the Fang Blade, or were even part of the Fang Blade.
Bai Canghai coughed and said proudly, "These bones were found by the elders of my clan beside a lake under the Swords Gate Mountain when Elder Shui Zian invited we Baizhe Family to resolve the conflicts between Swords Gate and Xiao Mang Celestial Race. These bones appeared to be the shattered skulls of a beast god, and they seemed to have emerged from the lake.
