Chapter 18 - The Twin Flying Fish-Goose (1/2)

The female house was where the upper house female disciples lived. It was a strange place filled with mysterious secrets in the perspective of the male disciples. There was once a male disciple that entered the female house—he suffered from amnesia as a result of the endless beatings from the female disciples, and he was then banished from the Swords Gate.

Things like this never stopped occurring, every year there would be a case or two. Although the male disciples were really fascinated by the forbidden paradise that was the female house, the danger of trespassing was also widely known. Even if the male disciple had a partner in the female house, he would typically wait outside for her to come out. No one actually had the audacity to enter the house.

"This heroic warrior, we bid you a fine farewell!" The male disciples gloated outside of the female house.

Zhong Yue was only an upper house disciple recently, and a number of crazy events took place after his promotion. No one had ever told him the rules about the female house that forbade the entry of male disciples. Hence, he directly walked into the female house without anyone stopping him.

"The female house is really different than the male house, the scenery here is spectacular… so beautiful."

While walking in the female house, he glanced around, the views of the female house were really idyllic. Flowers lined the roadside, the mountains were green, and skies were blue. In between the two was clear turquoise water; the lake and the skies met on at the horizon while at the middle of the lake were small boats floating on the water. There were also cormorants diving in and out of the water and gaudy mandarin ducks frolicking around the lake, From afar he could hear the voice of a female, it sounded graceful, ethereal and seemed to linger around the place.

Zhong Yue stood still and looked, his sights fixated on a young lady who was singing while sitting on the bow of a small skiff. As the water waves rippled, a few young ladies dived out from the lake water and leaned onto the side of the skiff, carefully listening to the song sung by the graceful voice, with their elegant shoulders unveiled.

"A strange man is peeping at you all!" suddenly the young lady on the skiff noticed Zhong Yue who was standing beside the lake, she yelled out in shock.

The ladies exclaimed in anxiousness and dived into the water, throwing up several waves of water into the air.

Zhong Yue rapidly walked away. The ladies dived all the way to a small isle in the middle of the lake. They wore their clothes, their eyes burned with anger, and their gazes were filled with palpable killing intent. They started searching for traces of Zhong Yue.

But Zhong Yue was fast. Furthermore, the young ladies had taken the time to put on their clothes; eventually, they were left far behind Zhong Yue.

"A man had just broken into the female house, and he peeped at the sisters bathing!"

"Tell the other sisters, smoke him out immediately!"

"Pervert, pervert, he dares to break into the female house and even more so, had the gall to peep at the sisters bathing! Find him and break his third leg!"

Zhong Yue casually walked into the female house. He thought in his heart, "Where does little sister Qingyan stay? The female house is so big, so many female disciples, it's pretty hard to find her. Why don't I ask someone about it…"

"Junior Martial Brother Zhong, how did you come here?"

All of a sudden, a familiar voice sounded in his ears. He followed the sound and saw Ting Lanyue carrying a flower basket like a village girl. Various strains of flowers made for a colorful sight while Ting Lanyue herself was looking at him with visible surprise.

"You are really daring to even break into the female house!"

Ting Lanyue quickly walked over to him, but her mind suddenly entertained an ambiguous thought, and she said shyly, "You risked coming into the female house, are you looking for me? I haven't changed my clothes…"

Zhong Yue smiled and said, "Senior martial sister is getting the wrong idea. I have an old friend in the female house. Her name is Shui Qingyan. She is from the Shui Tu Clan of the Wei River tribe, I promised to visit her before, but I wasn't free until now. Does Senior martial sister know about Junior Martial Sister Shui?"

"So he isn't here for me…"

Ting Lanyue was suddenly feeling dispirited, she then forced a smile and said, "So Junior martial brother is here for Junior Martial Sister Shui? Could she be your little lover?"

She didn't leave anytime for Zhong Yue to retort her statement and she quickly grabbed his arm, pulling him into her courtyard, "You are too daring! If the others found out that you snuck into the female house, then you are doomed. Hurry and hide in my courtyard! Oh, did anyone see you coming in?"

Zhong Yue stammered as he answers the question, "I saw someone singing beside the lake and some ladies bathing in the lake, I was noticed, and then I left…"

Ting Lanyue rolled her eyes and said in a dumbfounded fashion, "You are in deep trouble. Among those that bathed in the lake were the superior senior martial sister of the female house and granddaughter of the clan leader of the You Yu Clan. With the surname of Yu, the clan is ranked second among the top ten clans of the Great Wilderness. Senior Martial Sister Yu is unanimously acknowledged as the strongest disciple within the female house, nearly comparable to a Qi Practitioner. Plus, she isn't exactly known for having a mild temper. Yet you dare to peep at her bathing, you are dead! Go hide in my room first. I will send you off when the storm has subsided."

Zhong Yue explained, "I didn't intend to, I was just attracted to the graceful singing."

"The singer isn't an ordinary girl either; she comes from the Tao Lin Clan, third among the top ten clan rankings. Her name is Tao Daier, and she is well-known for her graceful voice. Her father is one of the law-executor elders of Swords Gate. You might have seen him before when you first joined the Swords Gate. He is the one that stares at everyone as if they owed him money."

Ting Lanyue was pounding her head, she placed her upper house disciple token on the door and said, "If anyone finds out, then you really are dead…I will look for Junior Martial Sister Shui, but the two of you can't simply do anything inappropriate in my courtyard!"

Zhong Yue was startled as he answered her, "What kind of inappropriate things can I do with Junior Martial Sister Shui?"

Ting Lanyue stared at him fiercely, and she shouted in embarrassment, "All in all, the two of you simply can't do such things in my courtyard!"

Not long after, Ting Lanyue returned, but there were no signs of Junior Martial Sister Shui around her, she shook her head and said, "Your little lover just went to the top of the mountain a few days ago as the Qi Practitioner of the Shui Tu Clan requested her presence. She entered closed-door seclusion training after she returned. I just went over to her courtyard, and she said she didn't want to meet with you. Did the two of you quarrel? Her face doesn't look so good. I told her that you almost died in the Demon Ruins, but she seemed quite apathetic and cold, not caring too much about you…"

Zhong Yue was stunned, he thought to himself, Junior Martial Sister Shui is usually a gentle and soft maiden, I have never offended her in any way, why is she suddenly acting so indifferent?

Ting Lanyue continued saying, "But her cultivation is really strong, I noticed that she is rapidly progressing after she returned from the mountain. Her strength is already superior to mine. I suppose she would be able to consummate her spirit and become a Qi Practitioner soon! Such a cultivation speed is really amazing, even faster than you! Now, it is hard to tell whether Senior Martial Sister Yu can maintain her position as the superior senior martial sister of the upper house disciples!"
