C20 (1/2)

As he thought about this, a familiar melody rang beside his ears. An Shengmei saw Tan Yizhe sitting on the stage, wearing a clean white shirt, singing a small song about the love of soda green. His voice was no longer that young man's voice that was softly chanting back then, but a man with a deep and powerful magnetism. They had all grown up.

After singing the song, the supervisor said to Tan Yizhe in a respectful tone: ”Director Tan is singing really well, he's not worse than those other celebrities at all. How about you and Shengmei sing together?”

When An Shengmei heard the supervisor say her name, she felt her body tremble and quickly waved her hand to decline, ”Supervisor, I don't even have five syllables, don't make me embarrass myself.”

The supervisor, however, did not take it in, ”Shengmei, your voice sounds so nice. It's definitely good to sing, don't decline it.” As he said that, he pushed An Shengmei onto the stage.

Tan Yizhe asked her in a gentle tone: ”What are you going to sing?”

”Whatever.” An Shengmei's character was almost worn out, this group of people were simply going to get her tonight! No matter what, she had to bring herself and this damned Tan Yizhe together.

Tan Yizhe quickly selected the song and handed over a mic to her. An Shengmei took over the name of the song that Mike saw on the screen — — ”I'm in Chang An”. She turned her head to look at Tan Yizhe in shock, but Tan Yizhe only smiled lightly: ”In the past, listening to you sing this song was pretty nice.”

Tan Yizhe's thin lips slightly parted, ”I saw the ruins of a lonely city again. Blood and sand had once alternated here, and in the end, there was a line of blood that was left in the scroll, but it was unable to bring out a hint of an innocent smile.”

An Shengmei's voice was very soft, ”I dreamt that there was a rain in the sky blue and the rain's soft aura, as if I was waking up from a dream who was the real you.

After the song ended, An Shengmei drank some wine tonight and felt a little dizzy. After putting down the microphone, she told the supervisor that the room was too noisy, so she went out to get some fresh air. Then she pushed open the door and left. When Tan Yizhe saw her, she followed her out and saw her standing in the corridor, wiping her hands over her face.

Seeing that Tan Yizhe had come out, An Shengmei used his hands to wipe away his tears in panic.

”Why are you crying? You feel so bad just singing a song with me? ” Tan Yizhe leaned against the wall beside her with his arms crossed.

An Shengmei stubbornly argued: ”I'm not crying, which eye of yours saw me crying, be careful or I'll sue you for slander.”

”I saw it with both eyes.” An Shengmei's eyes were red. He didn't even need to guess to know that she was crying. He ridiculed her in a somewhat funny manner, ”After so many years, your mouth is still unforgiving. You must have offended many people over the years, haven't you?”

”I can't compare to Mr. Tan. I bring my own halo wherever I go, leaving a deep impression in my mind.” An Shengmei sarcastically replied.

The atmosphere instantly turned awkward. Both of them looked at each other, unwilling to admit defeat.

”I'm not feeling well, I'll go home first.” An Shengmei was the first to be defeated, she had drank too much tonight, and most of it was because she couldn't stand his hawk-like eyes.

Tan Yizhe pulled her hand: ”I'll send you off.”

”No need. No need to trouble yourself, Director Tan. This is Shanghai, not Beijing.” She was reminding him not to be as domineering as he had been the day he had left Beijing.
