Chapter 48 - The Culprit (1/2)

When Chen Hao left, MinFeng sat on the sofa.

His face darkened as he remembered their previous conversation before the doctors arrived.

He wanted to know why she lied to him.

He stared at FengJiu.

He was not really angry towards her.

He was just hurt.

Hurt because she hid away their child.

If they did not reconcile, would that mean that she intended to hide the child completely?

Without even informing him about that little guy's existence?

He saw FengJiu scooted at the side of the bed, emptying the other side of it.

She stared at him and said, "Come... Sleep with me."

He did not move. He just continued to stare at her.

He wanted her to say it first. To explain everything.

He wanted to know her reason.

He was still thinking hard when FengJiu grabbed her head and wailed.

"Aiyooo~ my head hurts... Boo hoo~"

MinFeng knew she was just acting.

He knew that she was just acting to avoid answering his question.

He knew that she was just acting because she did not want to explain everything to him.

MinFeng decided to ignore her even though he was a little bit anxious towards her.

There was a possibility that she was really in pain.

But he tried to harden his heart and just looked at her.

When she saw he was not moving, she wailed again.

This time, her voice was one octave higher.

"Boo~ hoo~ It hurts... It hurts sooo muchhh.. Ahh~"

MinFeng could only sigh.

Really.

He could not win against her.

He could not completely get angry at her.

He could only yield to his wife.

He stood up and walked towards her.

She once again scooted on the other side of the bed.

He knew that FengJiu was aware that he wanted to ask her about their baby.

That he was aware that she was just acting to avoid his question.

But MinFeng could not get angry at her.

Because he loved this stupid woman.

He sat on the bed and caressed her face.

"Are you okay?"

MinFeng asked.

FengJiu smiled and nodded.

"When you touched me, the pain went away.."

MinFeng wanted to roll his eyes.

'This stupid woman must have a private lessons with that shameless friend of hers. She sucks at sucking up.'

MinFeng once again sighed and kissed her head that was wrapped in a thick bandage.

"Sleep..."

He ordered but she shook her head.

"I can't sleep. Can you cuddle me?"

He stared at her who was holding his hand.

He could only oblige and climb up the bed.

He laid on the bed and embraced FengJiu.

Few minutes later she had already fallen asleep.

He just stared at her sleeping face without blinking.

What happened to her really scared him to death.

That was the first time he experienced being suffocated to death.

The first time he wanted to die.

Few hours later, FengJiu was still sleeping.

MinFeng was still wide awake when the head doctor entered the room.
