The general came before the Lord of Glory's double and looked at Saleen's back far away. He then said to the grandmaster, ”Why the hell do you keep playing the kid for?”

”Playing him?” The grandmaster was puzzled.

The general was rather exasperated. The grandmaster's temperament was such that he had actually been really polite with Saleen. However, he just kept beating the bush and refusing what Saleen asked, which made Saleen really frustrated.

As such, Saleen ended up not caring about propriety and simply left so much as even saying goodbye.

What the grandmaster did would not have benefited the heroic spirits much.

Saleen did not leave the Imperial City of the Abyss immediately. He went to the astrology tower first, as there were still some things that he had left behind. Those were materials specifically made for astrologers.

Saleen recalled that there were things in there specifically made for storing dead bodies. Saleen stayed at the astrology tower for a bit and took what he was looking. He then stared outside the window and saw nothing but boundless darkness.

Just how did Gaine manage to bear with all of this?

Saleen stood in the astrology tower and thought how Gaine hoped that he would have become an astrologer. However, that wish would have never come true. This is the last time I'd show up in the astrology tower. I've taken everything in the tower. If some astrologer in Myers Mainland capable of inheriting your powers were to show up in Myers Mainland, I'd bring them here.

Saleen prayed deep down and made his decision, to never use the power of astrologers ever again.

His proficiency at astrology was only at level ten. His achievements would have still been limited even if he were to continue learning, and it ould have impeded his progress. Learning astrology was simply too time-consuming.

His lifespan was limited and his enemies were so powerful. The only way forward for him was to dedicate himself to studying magic and advancing diligently, as well as enhancing his combat prowess. The Lord of Glory was that powerful, and the fact made him realize a lot of things.

He had found it peculiar why Lex had chosen to bear with what those in the Golden Plains were doing. If he were to support and advise her with all he had at the moment, it would have been possible to actually rule the empire with an iron fist.

Saleen came to realize after meeting the Lord of Glory, that Lex simply had too many people she needed to protect.

It would have taken just one of Saleen's followers being dead to have him turn into a wreck. He then realized that was how things worked with Lex.

Saleen only left the Imperial City of the Abyss after he had straightened his thoughts out. He quickly came to the external fringes of the Oceanic Ice Block and loked for the island that he had taken. He then returned to Ceylon City, which was his home city. Saleen had no idea where the Winged Skull would have ran to with Nailisi's dead body, but the safest and nearest city he was able to find at that moment, was none other than Ceylon City.

So long as the gods were not attacking the place, the magic net installed in that city would have been able to keep the Winged Skull safe.

Saleen continued to call the Winged Skull using the contract between them. The Winged Skull had indeed returned to the area where the city was, and furthermore, The Winged Skull had returned to the house where Saleen used to live when he was young.

When Saleen arrived at the stone house, the place had been completely sealed in black ice.

The Winged Skull had once managed Ceylon City, so no one would have had anything to say about them. There was not even a single soldier found around the stone house.

There were only several golden skeletons standing guard around the place. Saleen called from outside of the house and a teleportation portal appeared on the black ice. Saleen passed through the portal on the ice and went into the house. The Winged Skull was waiting in the living room.

”Master!”

”What happened to all of them?” Saleen asked anxiously.

”Nailisi is dead, Rafel is done for, Nicholas...he should still be alive. If he were to die, I could transform him into a spirit.”

”Where is Nailisi's body?”

”Upstairs. I've kept it safe using Death Freezing, master...”

”I'm taking her to the Imperial City of the Abyss so that the grandmaster could save her,” Saleen said and walked up the stairs. He used to have some recollections or thoughts in his mind when he came back to the house, thinking about some details that had to do with his childhood. At that moment however, all he was able to think of was the dead imp.

If Nailsi were to be lost forever, Saleen felt that he would have lost something in his soul.

Saleen had the Winged Skull enter his magic amplifier. He then protected Nailisi's dead body with a crystal coffin. There was no way he could have repaired the body if it was damaged.

Rafel was not doing so well and Saleen had her rest in the magic cube. The combat angel had totally fallen into a coma. However, energy still worked within her body. Nicholas was still conscious, but he was no longer able to control his body and there were signs of his soul being damaged.

Saleen headed from Ceylon City's teleportation portal straight to the Oceanic Ice Block without saying anything. He was traveling at his greatest speed in that trip. It took less than half a day for him to return to the Oceanic Ice Block.

He no longer cared if anyone dicovered the place. If Nailisi were to lose her chance at resurrection due to him being too careful, Saleen would have regretted it for the rest of his life.

The imp needed someone to protect her after all, despite the fact that she herself had always been the first to charge when there was danger. She never hesitated.
