The six mages were helpless. They had accepted the Grand Duke's provision. Although they were not followers, now that Grand Duke Pompeii had died, they still ought to avenge him. However, the enemy was Alchemy City. Saleen could not agree to them immediately taking any action.
The level 8 mage said, ”we are ready to follow Your Majesty's instructions. But if you need us to fight, we only wish to battle against Alchemy City's mages. We are not going to help Your Majesty expand your territory.”
”Matters of battle will not be left to you.” Saleen spoke mildly and left the first floor of the magical tower. Nailisi went out to the city and searched for a few hours, but only managed to rescue about 20 mages and 100 warriors. The warriors were not the Grand Duke's. They were the protective forces for a large merchant caravan that had come. They had been guarding some important goods in a metal storehouse and fortunately had mages with them to seal the storehouse shut, so they had been able to escape the disaster.
Saleen did not have to lift a finger regarding dealing with Alchemy City. Whether or not Alchemy City would frame him still depended on whether Alchemy City was able to find out whether or not Saleen was alive. If Saleen had been killed by their magic trap, then there was no need to defame Saleen. If Saleen had survived, then Alchemy City could release rumours saying that Saleen's demon troops had destroyed Pompeii and killed everyone.
Saleen's Magical Element Tower took flight. After circling around Pompeii City once, it then flew towards Metatrin City. Jason wanted to go to the Imperial City of the Abyss to search for materials for refining the magic amplifier. The elemental creatures around the periphery for the Imperial City of the Abyss were easier for Saleen and Jason to capture.
The strong people in the Imperial City of the Abyss were either dead or limited in their range of activity and could not leave. The most dangerous enemy for Saleen while hunting in the Imperial City of the Abyss was the Angel of Fear. It was not that Saleen had no means to deal with it. With Nailisi, Saleen would not lack helpers. The 100,000 demons in the purgatory of devils had started to multiply and produce the next generation. The numbers of the demons would soon increase by at least three times. Demons born in the purgatory of devils were extremely loyal to Nailisi and would definitely not betray her.
