”If the inquisition helps you establish a dynasty, the head inquisitors want one of the seeds.”

The moment William's voice died down, William could feel intense murderous vibes emanating from the two magic war chariots.

Saleen had already released a cloud, he was about to fly out of the chariot and duel with Black William. As long as Saleen was within ten yards of Black William, he would be able to kill him with the Crystal Finger. Black William was at most two grades higher than Saleen, and given the power of the Crystal Finger, Black William would not even be able to resist the blow.

Lex had even taken it a step further. She even wanted to use the power within the God's Ring to trap Black William.

Black William knew about the existence of the divine trees however. The head inquisitors must have told him that. Even if Black William was killed, the situation would remain unchanged.

Black William subconsciously retreated one-hundred yards. In his heart, he was fearful, he had a fear that his life was about to be forcefully taken away in that moment.

It was no misconception. Such an instinct had already saved his life dozens of times. Even though he was the disciple of the head inquisitors, he also had to carry out assignments personally, and every single mission the inquisition took on was fraught with danger.

After a long while, Lex said, ”If the pope is dead, I can consider the proposal.”

Black William composed himself while staring at the two magic war chariots on the ground, as he calculated in his heart, ”If this deal doesn't succeed, can I really harass them until the subordinates of the head inquisitors arrive?”

”He is trying to buy time.” Nailisi saw through his antics.

”I know, but this guy cannot be taken out easily.” Saleen was helpless against Black William.

”The pope is not your enemy. If this is your only demand, I think you will regret it.”

”And why would I regret it?”

”Because the pope is dying soon.” Black William's words caused Lex to stifle her breath. ”The pope is dying? This is considered classified information in the Holy See, so why is Black William having no qualms telling me this?”

”Sorry, I don't feel like cooperating anymore. If you are willing to follow me, then go ahead. I hope you can continue flying in the desert.” Lex then turned around and instructed the two Black Metal Grand Swordmasters to continue the journey. She suddenly recalled that if Black William followed her into the desert, it would be almost impossible for him to continue flying.

If a black sandstorm of the Purgatory Desert appeared, even a grade-9 sorcerer would be concerned. Black William also had the holy powers of the Lord of Glory. The farther he advanced into the desert, the closer he would be to the temple, and the weaker he would become.

As the Lord of Glory discriminated against other gods, other types of divinity would also reject him. Even though the Goddess of Myers had fallen, her temple would still possess powerful holy power.

The moment Lex finished speaking, she stood up from her seat. Then she flew up and entered Saleen's magic war chariot.

”If he gets close, we will take action together and kill him.” Lex spoke very softly, but given Black William's ability, he could definitely hear it.

Indeed, Black William did not dare come close. Even the oracle could not kill Lex personally, Black William was very familiar with the power of god's punishment. ”Lex must be in possession of powerful equipment”. The legacy of the Grukos family might not be as rich as that of the Holy See, but as Emperor Chanake's daughter, Lex's skills caused Black William to be very fearful too.

Secretly, Saleen made a decision, ”If I manage to be within ten yards from this Black William, I will cast the Crystal Finger immediately and kill this pesky fellow. Even though there will be serious after effects after using the Crystal Finger, it isn't too difficult to recover from them. If the head inquisitors get personally involved, I will use the badge.”

Since the motive of this expedition had been exposed, there was no point concealing it anymore.

The Crystal Finger was a sorcerer's spell. Even a sorcerer would need to don Raphael's Crystal Ring in order to negate backlash from the Crystal Finger. If Saleen were to cast the Crystal Finger, his magic chords would be fully depleted, and he would not be able to use any method to regain it quickly. He would also sustain grave injuries, which would require treatment.

With the power of the Crystal Finger, Saleen could kill a sorcerer in a second. No Magic Shields could withstand this invincible finger. His only regret was that the range of this spell was too small.

Once again, the magic war chariots accelerated, while Black William followed from a great distance away. He maintained a distance of about eight-hundred yards.

”Saleen, use your Water Shield to isolate the chariot,” Lex said urgently.

Saleen did not ask why, he immediately cast a gigantic Water Shield. This spell was his forte. He was most familiar with it, and it provided him with the most sense of security. A bubble expanded, pasting against the interior of the magic war chariot, taking on the shape of a rectangle.

Lex then cast a Mute Enchantment, and said, ”We are in big trouble. This time around, we are facing the leaders of the inquisition. Saleen, we have to think of a way to kill Black William. The three head inquisitors will be able to locate us easily otherwise.”
