When they returned to the cave, the two of them ate heartily.

The sense of well-being brought about by the food dampened the loss of the prey that had been robbed. Su He and Chun Ran chatted nonchalantly. The evening sun cast a shocking purple glow on the distant mountains, and the weak chirping of insects could be heard from below, as if this was the human world. Su He thought of his penglai mountains, his master, his senior brother, and the person who had harmed him. Who am I, where am I from, where am I going? She told Chun Ran her question, and Chun Ran smiled as he went to find firewood to prepare for the night.

The howling at night was extremely cold in the abyss. Chun Ran stayed silent, adding firewood to the fire one by one.

”Is this how you usually live?” Su He suddenly asked with some heartache.

”Yeah, I'm used to it. Fire brings warmth, and I like to meditate in this warmth. ”

”What are you thinking? Your family? Your sweetheart? ” Su He was extremely gossipy.

”Those are things that have been far away from me for too long. I have long forgotten about them.” Chun Ran's voice was a little hoarse.

”That's great, I also want to forget a lot of things. ”Go to sleep.” Su He turned around and suddenly fell asleep.

The girl in front of him was so cute even with a sigh, and she let out a sweet cry. Chun Ran was really envious of her heartlessness.

It was very comfortable to be with this person. After filling up the firewood, Chun Ran smiled and followed her example before he fell.

Su He felt at ease. She dreamed about the hillside where it was noon, the ancient trees that reached into the clouds, and the wind that blew through the shrubbery. She told herself to live well, to live for herself, not to commit suicide.

The bonfire was extinguished slowly because there was no one to add wood. The moonlight shone through the fog into the cave, leaving behind a clear silhouette. Chun Ran did not sleep deeply, as he was in an abyss filled with wild beasts. He had never dared to relax his guard.

There was a sound! Chun Ran wasn't sure if it was a nocturnal wild beast or not, but he became more alert to see where the sound was coming from. When the sound came closer, and disappeared from the cave about ten metres away, Chun Ran felt something very strange. Fortunately, the fire had been extinguished and the night was dark and the wind was strong. The cave he was hiding in should not be discovered. Su He was still not alerted by the danger. He shook his head helplessly. Thinking about the abnormal intelligence of the wild beast in the afternoon, Chun Ran did not dare to let his guard down.

After a long time, the cave seemed to return to its previous tranquility. The only sounds that could be heard were the whistling of the wind and the crickets in the grass. Chun Ran knew that the danger was not too far away. It was waiting for an opportunity.

The moonlight was dim, and after passing through the barrier of the leaves, it became messy and cracked. A gust of wind blew past, and it seemed like there was a cloud that had blocked the moon. The cave was pitch black! Chun Ran slowly stood up. He knew that this was the best opportunity to attack and held back the flint tightly.

Sure enough, heavy footsteps could be heard and the cave seemed to be on the verge of collapsing. A pair of blue lanterns was seen at the mouth of the cave amidst the chaos, staring straight into the cave!

”Damn, it's that monster's eyes!” Chun Ran roared.

Su He woke up from his stupor. What was going on? Did senior experience an earthquake? ”

”Get up, it's the monster that stole our food in the afternoon!” Chun Ran stared outside the cave.

The monster was also staring at the two of them at a steady pace, as if it was sizing up their fear with great interest.

”Didn't it already steal our prey? What is it doing here now?” Su He thought about what had happened in the past few days and felt extremely angry.

”Maybe your stone annoyed it? ”It's not important anymore. Let's think about how we're going to get out of here.” Chun Ran maintained his calm.

The monster finally made its move. The small monster couldn't enter the cave, so he stretched out his front claws and desperately dug around the cave. It wanted to bury the two alive!

”We can't wait any longer. If we seal up the entrance, it will be difficult to get out.” Chun Ran decided to give it a shot.

”How does it keep us out of the cave?” Su He was anxious too.
