After a hot and steamy hour, the couple achieved the first step of their goal by marking one spot of Zach's condo. After they finished making love,they sat down on the sofa to relax for a while. Zach buried his nose in her hair, smelling her sweet scent and Keira snuggled a little more in the crook of his neck. She tried to persuade him to let her go by herself to her family mansion to which Zach refused. Keira insisted Zach to stay in his condo unit and wait for his family to arrive and let J&J drive her to her family mansion.
'Alright! When the wife is stubborn, the husband has to give up and agree with her arrangements.' So that was what Zach did! He finally sighed and agreed to whatever Keira said.
At Chan's Mansion...
Keira was shocked to see the grand preparations her parents had done to welcome Zach's family.
”Is there a wedding feast for the whole army today mom? Isn't it a bit too much?” Keira commented when she saw how her parents had their garden arranged with beautiful decorations, for a warm gathering. Their chef would cook and serve the dishes personally in the garden for everyone.
”What do you mean this is too much? That's our son-in-law's family. And this is our first meeting. Nothing is too much. We must welcome them wholeheartedly. And moreover he will take care of our only princess on our behalf from now on, so however much we do for him is never too much. This is just nothing…” said her mom while continuing to instruct the helpers.
Keira also saw the gifts that her parents had prepared for Zach's family members. She was impressed with the thoughtful selection of beautiful gifts for them. She grinned and hugged her parents.
”Thank you so much, Mom and Dad. Thanks for being the best parents in the world,” she whispered crying. She was grateful to have such a supportive family by her side.
Field Marshal Chan patted her on the head and said, ”If you are so thankful, then think about gifting us a grandchild soon to play with.”
Keira was getting a little emotional after seeing all the preparations. She released her parents and looked at them and smiled faintly. Her father cupped her face, wiped the tears under her eyes and softly said, ”It's hard to believe that my little bird has grown up and is going to have a nest of her own. I am overwhelmed with emotions to even say anything to you. May God bless you always, my child.”
Keira smiled and hugged her father tightly. ”Thank you so much for your blessings and for everything else you have always done for me, Dad.” She paused for a few seconds and then said, ”Dad,I have a request to make. I want Zach to quit the military after his current mission is over. I get scared everyday and many times I do not understand how to cope with my fear of losing him. If Zach quits the army my mind will be very much at peace.”
Field Marshal heard her say those things and replied, ”Keira, have you talked to Zach about this before you asked me?”
”Not exactly, Dad, but he was also talking about settling down in the province once, where he had bought his property and he wanted to focus on the ranch to develop the best meat exporter company there.”
Field Marshal Chan said, ”Keira, to keep away from danger, Zach doesn't need to quit the military, he will soon be promoted to my position after I retire because he is the most capable person for this post as of now. Then he can choose to either join the missions in person or just supervise and manage the things and support as the head of the military base. But if you both still feel that Zach must quit and start a civilian life, I will not have much say in your decisions.”
