176 Stupid!!! (1/2)
Jeru followed Thea, who walked with a bottle of alcohol in each hand. She had got it from the bar before heading outside of the hotel.
She sat on the sand and downed the bottle in her right hand. Then she shouted at the top of her lungs, ”Ahhhhhhhhhhhh…”
”Ahhhhhhh…”
”Ahhhhhhh…”
Jeru looked around and let out a sigh of relief when he saw that no one was around. It was already midnight, and usually, no one came to the beachfront at this hour. Hence, the place was deserted.
”What's this? Does she plan to shout all night long?” he mused as he observed Thea, who kept on drinking the alcohol directly from the bottle. He presumed that Zach came clear with Thea about his feelings during that talk because the two looked serious then.
He let out a long, deep sigh and kept watching her. Right now, he was seeing himself in Thea, because that was exactly what he did when Keira told him that she already had a boyfriend, and it was none other than Zach-the man whom he often was compared with, the person whom he often lost to at the Military Academy.
Jeru smirked, even when it came to heart matters, he still failed and lost to Zach.
Then he recalled how he got drunk that night when he found out about Zach and Keira. He sat alone at his balcony and drowned himself in alcohol. He felt dejected and broken. He was so devastated, he was not able to face reality back then. He was sure that the same was now happening with Thea. She might be feeling the same or even worse than him.
Moreover, she and Zach had practically grown up together, her attachment to him must have been really strong. The only difference in their situation was that Thea and Zach had been in a relationship earlier, while Keira had been honest with him from the start- she told him that she only saw him as a friend. Compared to him, Thea's wound was deeper.
Thea was shouting to dissipate her heartache and frustration, while Jeru did not shout but punched the table instead until he bled. So he somehow understood Thea's feelings.
”Stupiddddd! Thea, why are you so stupid!!! Very stupid! A very stupid woman!!!” Thea screamed as she gulped down another mouthful of alcohol, and helplessly stared at the sea.
While Jeru was witnessing Thea's broken state, he blew some air on his own forehead.
”Why do I feel as if I'm a stalker, following her and watching her from a distance?” he irritably mused as he took out his mobile phone from his pocket. He should ask his men to look after Thea instead.
But for some unknown reason, he put his phone back in his pocket, as he stared at Thea and let out a long, deep sigh again. He helplessly shook his head and thought, 'Isn't she cold?' seeing that Thea was wearing a backless gown.
”She looks so pitiful right now,” he muttered.
”Ahhhhhh!!! It hurts! It hurts so much!” Thea screamed and started crying even harder. She was hurt, really hurt up to the depths of her heart. The pain was agonizing, and it was going to take her some time to redeem herself from this agony.
The realization that there was no hope for her to be with Zach again was killing her. She knew Zach so well and could read every emotion on his face. She could read him through his eyes.
