”Mr Lu, I don't think I have anything to do with you anymore?” Du Ruqing looked coldly at Lu Juyan and shook off his hand. A cold smile rose on her lips as she couldn't help but mock him.

These words stunned Lu Juyan for a moment as he stood on the spot and looked at Du Liqing. Suddenly, he felt a sense of unfamiliarity. He opened his mouth, but realized that he could not say anything.

Du Ruqing didn't say anything else. He turned around and left this place, but he felt an inexplicable pain in his heart. He gritted his teeth silently and stubbornly refused to look back at Lu Juyan, thus missing out on the sadness that flashed through his eyes.

Suddenly, a muffled sound of thunder could be heard from the horizon as a bolt of lightning flashed across the dark sky. It was as if a scar had been cut across the sky. The rain began to fall, pouring down on the people on the street without umbrellas.

”It's raining.” Gu Li stood under the nearby eaves and pulled Du Liqing, who was in a daze, over. He looked at the black hair on her head that was drenched by the rain water and subconsciously felt afraid of hitting it to prevent the rain water from seeping through and causing a cold.

The simple three words pulled Du Liqing back from his thoughts. As he looked at Gu Li, his eyes filled with tears, but he stubbornly refused to let them slide.

It was unknown if it was because the emotions in his heart were too suppressed or because the atmosphere was extremely depressing, but the tears that filled his eyes made him want to cry.

”You can go back first.” Du Ruqing retreated a few steps, allowing the rain to fall on her body. Tears also seemed to flow from her eyes. She didn't want to let Gu Li notice her sadness. She looked away, and couldn't help but open her mouth to chase him away.

Without waiting for Gu Li's reply, she turned and left the place, walking step by step into the rain. He allowed the tears to flow down his face, so that no one would notice him. He smiled, but he felt bitter in his heart.

Gu Li looked at Du Yun's thin body and felt a faint sense of discomfort in his heart. His brows furrowed slightly. He followed behind her without saying a word, yet he felt worried and pained for her from the bottom of his heart.

Neither of them said a word. Neither of them planned to buy an umbrella from the neighboring store. They just allowed the rain to soak their bodies as their vision blurred.

Suddenly, the phone in Gu Li's pocket rang. He helplessly grabbed Du Liqing's hand, stood at a place where he could avoid the rain, and pressed the button to answer the call.

”Hello, Gu Li? Hurry up and come back, the military commander of the country has ordered for us to go to the customs office to guard the new mission! ”

As soon as the call connected, the other party announced the order to Gu Li and had him rush over as fast as he could. From the looks of it, this was an extremely urgent task.

Gu Li turned his gaze to Du Liqing, who was squatting at the side and not moving. His heart was filled with worry, but he had no choice but to carry it out.

The person on the other side of the phone seemed to have felt that Gu Li had been too silent today. He neither replied nor hung up the phone. He couldn't help but inquire about the matter as he once again released the mission.

”Yes sir!” Due to the situation being too tense, Gu Li couldn't help but agree.

After hanging up, Gu Li walked over to Du Liqing's side and squatted down to look at her. He patted her shoulder and comforted her, ”Don't get wet, go back.”

Du Ruqing raised her head to look at Gu Li. She had long since heard the words that Gu Li had said to her, so she nodded her head in gratitude.
