Chapter 5 (2/2)
As many thoughts raced through Weiai’s mind, Uncle Zhong stopped.
Weiai was stunned for a moment. She raised her head up to look at the black door in front of her. The sides of the door were gold embellished. As compared to the other doors she saw on her way here, this one appeared much more gloomy and a little out of place.
As she was thinking this, the door opened suddenly. A delicate and pretty girl popped her head out of the door. It was clear that she was of the same age as Weiai. However, she was dressed appropriately and looked solemn, appearing even a little old-fashioned.
She first looked at Uncle Zhong, then she proceeded to fix her gaze on Weiai. For a long time, she examined Weiai up and down, refusing to miss out on any detail, as if she was looking at someone else through her.
“There is indeed some resemblance…”
At the end of it, the young lady mumbled under her breath.
Following that, she waved her arm and said, “Go on in, the young master is waiting for you.”
Weiai took a careful peek into the room. However, the room was so dark that she could see nothing. Under the watch of the young lady and Uncle Zhong, she could only move her legs hesitantly, until she was inside the room.
“Boom—”
Once she entered the room, the door was slammed shut, making a deep, loud noise.
“Hey! What are you guys doing? Open the door…”
Subconsciously, Weiai turned around and pounded on the door, a sense of fear and anxiety enveloping her.
However, she did not receive any reply. She clenched her fists tight and turned around slowly, looking around the dark room. She was starting to become creeped out.
The room was dark because there was no sunlight at all, even the windows were closed. As if the person living here was trying to keep himself away from the rest of the world. As she slowly adjusted her eyes to her surroundings, she looked around again and realized that the room was surprisingly spacious. But the furnishing was very simple.
The person who lives here must be very lonely!
An inexplicable thought came across Weiai.
At the same time, she directed her gaze at a spot.
Right next to the window, in front of the French window, stood a person back-facing Weiai. He stood there quietly. He was silent and did not respond to Weiai’s presence, exuding a hint of loneliness.
Weiai blinked her eyes and guessed that this man should be the young master they were talking about—her savior!
