Chapter 23：23. Family Matters (1/2)

I decided to go back to my apartment, then packed up to accompany him at the hospital. I was going to let him decide, whether he wanted me to stay the night or not.

I was still not sure about us, but at least I would not abandon him when he was hospitalized. ”Chris? Yes it's Adriana. Can you get to the lobby...I'd like to get back to my apartment then to the hospital to see Alex. Yeah, ok. Thank you.” I said goodbye to Gary and told him that I was not sure about tomorrow. But I told him to call my mobile for any urgent matters.

I arrived at the hospital at seven, I got my leather backpack with me, I was wearing my flats and jeans and my casual top. I was prepared for an overnight comfort, Chris accompany me to his room and stayed out side, joining Alex guard outside his room.

I gently knocked at his door, I didn't see his mother. But I saw his father instead, so she must be outside and will be back shortly. I took a deep breath and come inside.

Come on Adriana you've dealt with millionaires and billionaires, this is a walk in the park.

I convinced myself that I could handle my boyfriend's parents. And walked steadily into his room. He was sleeping, so I forced myself to talked to his father.

”Mr. Davis.” I nodded my head to him.

”Ah, Adriana...please sit down, and call me Frank. Look I'm sorry about my wife earlier. I think she felt a bit guilty that she needs to blame someone else for Liza's mistake.” He offered me a cup of coffee that they bring, but I smiled thanking him and showed him my coffee tumbler.

”What you did before, it take guts to backed down from a fight and pick your battle. I can see why my boy likes you. You're very different from his other dates. Sorry, I didn't mean to analyze you.” He smiled at me, as he drink his coffee.

”Thank you, I just... I've lost both my parents and I would do anything to have them back, as deranged and messed up as they were. I know they loved me once, and when you're blood it's a given.” I shrugged at him, and wiped a tear that slipped from the corner of my eye.

”Hey...it's okay. Look why don't you sit by his bed? I'm going to stretched my legs and find his mom, and give you kids some privacy.” He winked at me and got up from the sofa. He patted my shoulder, as he passed by me on his way out the door.

So I went to his bedside and kissed his forehead. He smiled and opened his eyes. ”Mmm...Addie I miss your smell, I love your perfume and your shampoo. Thank you for coming back. I love you baby.” I smiled back at him and squeezed his hand and kissed his lips softly.

”So, I'm your girlfriend now? I thought we're doing the daddy thing and taking it slow?” I teased him, but actually liking my tittle.

”Hey, I did get stabbed I'd say it accelerate our relationship couple steps further. So, girlfriend you are staying here with this boyfriend of yours tonight right?” He asked while stroking my face with the back of his hand, caressing it slowly making me smile.
