”Brother Yinan, did the caller give you his name?”

”No…” Qin Yinan added after a pause. ”He was succinct. He merely mentioned that you had fallen into the water and were recuperating on the eastern side of the lake before hanging up.”

”Thanks,” Song Qingchun replied before going silent. Looks like this mystery person doesn't want me to know his identity or else he wouldn't have used a public phone to call Qin Yinan without even leaving his name.

Qin Yinan noticed Song Qingchun had gone awfully quiet, so he prompted, ”What's wrong?”

”Nothing.” Song Qingchun only managed to squeeze out one word before there was a knock on the door.

Song Qingchun quieted down as Qin Yinan turned toward to door to ask, ”Who is it?”

There was no answer, so he stood up and walked to open it.

Song Qingchun peeked around Qin Yinan to glance at their visitor. It was her colleague from TW Station who was good friends with Tang Nuan. The moment Song Qingchun saw the person, she knew why she was there. She averted her gaze, and as she did, the person said the words that Song Qingchun expected her to. ”Mr. Qin, I'm sorry for disturbing you, but Tang Nuan suddenly suffered from a horrible stomach ache. It is so painful that she said she is unable to even move.”

Qin Yinan frowned before turning to look at Song Qingchun. ”Song Song, wait a minute, I'll be back in a bit.”

Song Qingchun nodded wordlessly. Her face was calm, and she didn't give much of a response.

She knew perfectly well that Tang Nuan was merely making a scene because she couldn't stand Qin Yinan spending so much time taking care of her. This was Tang Nuan's way of summoning Qin Yinan away from her.
