Song Qingchun turned around with a confused look on her face.

Su Zhinian stood up and looked into her eyes. After a short pause, he said, ”The thing with your brother, Song Cheng, don't worry too much about it, I'll help you get to the bottom of the truth.”

Song Qingchun had not been expecting this when Su Zhinian called her. She was frozen to the spot, as if someone had pressed the pause button on her. Her relationship with Su Zhinian couldn't be considered close, so she was really surprised that he was so willing to help her.

”Go to bed,” Su Zhinian said softly before turning around to smooth out the comforter that covered the sofa.

Song Qingchun stood there, watching Su Zhinian cleaning up the place, and her heart started to give.

The first drunken incident had left a deep, dark scar on her heart. The many happy moments that they had shared before that incident were completely soured from that moment onward.

Instead of saying she hated him, it was more accurate to say she didn't have the courage to face what had happened that night. It had always been her belief that if she didn't meet him anymore, she could just go on pretending the night had never happened.

Therefore, in her heart, there was a reluctance to truly understand him, be it the incident five years ago or during their contractual relationship now.

Until that night, after the talk, she realized that the unapproachable Su Zhinian, the one she thought was heartless and cruel, was not all there was to the man.

If she really thought about it, he actually wasn't as bad as she thought; it was merely everything he had done since was tainted by that incident five year ago.

Furthermore, five years later, he had helped her quite a lot.

The many things that had happened in the two months they stayed together crossed Song Qingchun's mind. When she saw how he was going to squeeze his 180 centimeter plus body onto the one-meter sofa, the words just came naturally out of her mouth.

”Su Zhinian, why don't you come sleep in the bedroom?”
