Chapter 180 - Entering the Medical Valley (2/2)

Gui Yi and Gui Si knew if Feng Yi Xuan wanted to force his way into the Medical Valley, it wouldn’t be an impossibility. However, Feng Yi Xuan liked little junior sister very much, then he wouldn’t do anything to make things difficult for litlte junior sister, nor would he destroy little junior sister’s home.

“Xuan!” Lan You Nian tightly gripped Feng Yi Xuan’s hand, then said, “Wait for me!” Lan You Nian was determined to enter the Medical Valley. She knew shifu loved her very much. If she went in to plead with him, shifu will definitely agree. If she simply allowed Feng Yi Xuan to be shut out, then how is she worthy of Feng Yi Xuan’s love?

How could Gui Yi and Gui Si not understand Lan You Nian’s intention? The two of them thought if little junior sister went to shifu and acted spoilt, shifu will definitely agree to anything. Gui Yi mulled over it for a moment, then said, “Little junior sister, it would be inconvenient to go back and forth, much less for the fact that your body is still frail. Let’s just let Ming wang go in together!”

Lan You Nian looked back at Feng Yi Xuan, mischievously fluttering her eyes. Feng Yi Xuan smiled dotingly. He’s already discerned the little chit was merely pretending in front of Gui Yi and Gui Si, all just to have them take the initiative to let him enter the Medical Valley. His little woman stood on his side; just thinking this made Feng Yi Xuan overjoyed.

Feng Yi Xuan shot An Yi a look. An Yi instantly understood his master’s will. Lan You Nian, too, glanced at Lan Wu, wanting to ask Lan Wu if she wanted to enter the Medical Valley. Lan Wu waved her hand straightaway, “Young miss, I’m going to play around with An Yi. I haven’t played for a long time!”

Lan Wu knew the rules of the Medical Valley and didn’t want to create difficulties for her young miss. As long as she knew young miss thought of her as a friend, a sister, in her heart, then it was enough. As for whether or not she got to go into the Medical Valley, Lan Wu didn’t care. After all, there’s people inside who will take good care of young miss.

“An Yi” Lan You Nian faced An Yi, “This girl is troublesome, so you look after her!” Perhaps because in Lan Wu and the other’s eyes, their young miss was a child, but equally, in Lan You Nian’s eyes, the others were also children.

“Yes, matriarch!” An Yi said. After all, it wasn’t appropriate to call by wangfei in front of outsiders while outside, so while on the road, An Yi called Lan You Nian matriarch most of the time.

Feng Yi Xuan carried Lan You Nian as he followed Gui Yi and Gui Si into the Medical Valley. The Medical Valley’s entrance was actually a forest. There wasn’t even any tracks of the path being walked on, as if this place has never been trodden on.

After the four of them entered the Medical Valley, there were disciples of the Medical Valley, all dressed in blue, who immediately bowed respectfully saying, “Young miss, eldest young master, fourth young master!” Don’t ask them why they call out Lan You Nian first. Who in the Medical Valley didn’t know Gui Yi Zi’s youngest immediate disciple Lan You Nian was Gui Yi Zi’s pampered little apprentice, even more, she was the young masters’ beloved little junior sister. In the Medical Valley, everyone calls Lan You Nian, “Young miss”, the one and only young miss.

Lan You Nian smiled as she nodded, then headed deeper into the Medical Valley. Feng Yi Xuan noticed since the moment they entered the Medical Valley, Nian Nian’s entire person seemed to have relaxed a lot, as well as regaining some of her original personality. This was an expression of one’s trust. Feng Yi Xuan thought to himself if there was time in the future, he’ll accompany Nian Nian to visit the Medical Valley. If Nian Nian liked it, they can stay here in the Medical Valley too. He can ignore all the worldly things, only asking for his girl’s peace of heart.

The two Medical Valley’s disciples observed the man of uncommon bearing with some amount of surprise. For many years, no outsider has entered the Medical Valley. Even if they were to treat a patient, they would leave the valley to perform treatment and not allow the patient to enter the Medical Valley. They, the disciples of the Medical Valley, have lived in the Medical Valley for generations. They really couldn’t guess what this man’s identity was to have the honor of entering the Medical Valley. And from the looks of it, this man seemed to admire young miss. Could it be? The two Medical Valley disciples’ mouths gaped open in horror. Could he have taken a fancy for their Medical Valley’s young miss?

After Gui Yi and Gui Si brought the two into the Medical Valley, they left. After all, they weren’t leisurely people. Each one of them shouldered a responsibility. If it wasn’t because of little junior sister, how could the both of them go to the entrance of the Medical Valley?

Lan You Nian guided Feng Yi Xuan into the garden where they lived in the Medical Valley. Lan You Nian’s dwelling was the best as well as the most beautiful. In front of the courtyard were several robust orange trees that were like opened green umbrellas. They branched out towards the ground. There was an innumerable number of branches which was crowded with leaves where one was clustered over another. A new green sprung from the surface of the leaves from the moistening of rain. Under the sunlight, the fresh green revealed hints of greenery. If one were to pick off a piece and rub it in their hands, a potent leafy scent will refreshen one’s body. The most enticing would have to be the orange blossoms. The bushy green leaves were dotted with blossoms and clusters of them, like real-life snowflakes blanketing the trees. The thick fragrance made one drunk.

The two of them walked into the little courtyard. They only saw a zigzagging veranda upon stepping through the doors, under which stones layered into a stone pathway. Above were several small dwellings. These were all Gui Yi Zi and the others’ residence and courtyards. LAn You Nian brought Feng Yi Xuan over to her own simple dwelling and courtyard. From the inner room, there was another small door. Once you step outside, you will step into the backyard with trees of pear blossoms and plantains. Under the backyard wall, there was a gap where there was a clear spring that was only a few feet deep that irrigated into the wall and twisted around the dwelling into the front yard, circling under the bamboo.

*This is what the bed would look like*except made of bambooUpon entering the inner rooms of the building, it would be Lan You Nian’s boudoir. Feng Yi Xuan carefully scanned over it. It was a very ordinary boudoir and very simple with an ordinary vanity table placed with an ivory comb. There was a bamboo couch-bed* that was draped with moon white curtains embroidered with the spider lily. The bed was carpeted with a thin bedding with a long rattan pillow placed ontop. Seeing this, Feng Yi Xuan’s brows furrowed, wondering if Nian Nian has suffered grievances living here all these years, if it was toilsome.

Lan You Nian could tell what Feng Yi Xuan was thinking. As a wangye, everything Feng Yi Xuan used was all the best quality stuff. And now, the day to day things Feng Yi Xuan prepared for her were even more exquisite and fine than that of a princess of the imperial family.

“It might appear simple but it is comfortable living here!” Lan You Nian said grinning. It seemed since stepping into the Medical Valley, the smile on Lan You Nian’s face has increased. Because Feng Yi Xuan was with her, Lan You Nian’s smile was warmer by several degrees.

“As long as you like it!” Feng Yi Xuan personally tidied up the room which has already been tidied previously. Due to fighting in wars for so many years, there was not any hardship he hasn’t had a taste of. His heart merely ached for Nian Nian. He only wanted to give Nian Nian the best.

“Wait for me. I will go see shifu,” Lan You Nian sat on the soft couch, watching as Feng Yi Xuan virtuously tidied up the room. How come she had the feeling the two’s positions have been switched? Wasn’t the woman supposed to be doing these trivial things? Feng Yi Xuan really was the world’s number one good man, for he could enter the battlefield to kill the enemy as well as enter the room to make the bed. Lan You Nian felt she got really got the better end of the deal.

“Let’s go together. In any case, I should go pay a visit to shifu!” In fact, from a certain viewpoint, Feng Yi Xuan respected Gui Yi Zi a lot. Firstly, Gui Yi Zi protected Nian Nian all these years, giving Nian Nian a family. Secondly, Feng Yi Xuan can see Gui Yi Zi’s sincerity towards Nian Nian. Although most of the time he was jealous, he also hoped there were more people who will love and protect Nian Nian.

“How come you’re also calling shifu?” Lan You Nian asked curiously. She didn’t know that in private Gui Yi Zi and Feng Yi Xuan already met and they frequently exchanged letters.

“Since it’s Nian Nian’s shifu, then he is also my shifu!” Feng Yi Xuan stated in a matter of course tone.

“Then you’ll become my senior brother, only my senior brother!” Lan You Nian giggled, covering her mouth, afraid Feng Yi Xuan will punish her. Feng Yi Xuan’s punishment for her was to ruthlessly kiss her, so Lan You Nian’s first reaction was to protect her mouth.

“I am your lord husband!” Feng Yi Xuan lightly knocked Lan You Nian’s forehead, his expression indulgent.
