27 CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN (1/2)
Amaya's POV
I just received my first salary, which is huge and very much satisfying.
I am going to get something nice for Malia and Eunice, in appreciation of what they've done for me. Currently I was fidgeting my pen in my mouth, trying to think of what to get.
I also wanted to get myself something nice.
Malia has been complaining that she was tired of the paint in her office so I decided to add a touch to it, and Eunice on the other hand, I'll get her that sunglasses she saw on TV and wanted to die for.
I guess I'll get myself a new dress after all.
Its Friday which means I get to close by 2pm today, and checking my watch it's 1:15.
I decided to start packing my things. When I was done, I walked to Malia's office and met her with someone discussing, I guess that's business.
”Excuse me” she says and stood up to walk to me.
”Sorry, I didn't know you were with someone, I'll come back later” I say and wanted to turn.
”Wait, Charles is picking me up for dinner which means you'll have to go with my car again, and this time, please don't let anything happen to that angel” she said putting her hand up and pleading.
I chuckled, shaking my head.
”I'll just take the cab, thanks” I refused but she put her hands on her waist.
”Well I'm asking you to help me drop my car at home then” she says, raising her brows and trying to look serious.
That made me laugh.
”Fine” I say and she smile, walking back inside her office as I wait for her. She returned with the car key and handed it to me.
We hugged and she return to her business.
Checking my watch it was 1:34 but I decided to sign out now, since I don't have anything left to do.
Shortly my phone buzzed, I checked and the caller was Will.
”Hello” I said answering the call
”Hello, Miss Amaya, how are you today?” He asks and I smile.
”Well, just here you know, I'm okay” I replied and I hear him clear his throat.
”Where are you then?” He asks and I wanted to lie but what if he sees me driving or maybe he's outside the restaurant already.
”I'm at work but I'm leaving very soon, like right now” I say quickly so he wouldn't say he wants to come
”Good, I'm at a downtown cafe close to your restaurant, I'll drop you home then” he says and before I could protest he ended the call.
And I grunted loudly.
”What will I do with Malia's car?” I say out to myself.
”Amaya? You're still here?” I hear Malia's voice from behind me and I turn.
”Well, lucky for me Will wants to come and pick me up” I say sarcastically.
”Oh good, give me my keys” she says, collecting it from my hand. I just opened my eyes.
”Well? Go meet your man then” she says hugging me and then pushing me out.
I was pushed out and just stood there, with my mouth wide open.
”Betrayal” I say twitching my eyes.
I walked out and then begin to search for Will.
What if he didn't show up? I ask myself.
Exhaling, I checked my watch and the time was 1:55
”Great” I say out and just as the word came out of my mouth, I see the red Mercedes pulling over and I was sure that was Will.
He halt and then got down and walked to me.
”I'm sorry I delayed you Miss Amaya” he apologized and I smile.
