Chapter 576: Seclusion

Xue Ying swept his vision across the surroundings. His eyesight was extremely potent, allowing him to easily detect the spread of this layer world—it was roughly two trillion miles in diameter, and it had no entrance or exit other than the huge tunnel that he had just left!

The location he found himself in had a barren and smooth gravely ground, giving it an appearance quite similar to a desert. He was unable to detect any other living being inside.

‘What? The ground is fully gravel?’ Xue Ying’s heart shook. He immediately descended, and as his feet landed on the gravely surface, they sunk in ever so slightly, leaving behind two footprints.

‘As I fled on my life all along this Three Chieftains Sacred Mountains, the passages I traversed were all indestructible. How come I’ve encountered gravel all of a sudden?’ Xue Ying looked down. ‘Should I check out what’s beneath all this gravel?’

‘Hong~’

Xue Ying’s surging luminous sun force diffused as it began to push out gravel underneath him.

An immeasurable amount of gravel was pushed aside, followed by a huge hole, more than a hundred million kilometers in diameter, appearing directly underneath Xue Ying. As the majestic and dazzling rays of white light spread, more and more gravel was being pushed out, and the hole was becoming deeper and deeper, pushing even more gravel over into the surroundings! Before long, the hole reached a depth of ten thousand kilometers. The layer of gravel all around had already begun to thicken.

“Yi?” Xue Ying discovered that the very round and smooth gravel pieces below him were no longer there; they were instead replaced with thick pieces of gravel, and even some irregular shapes that weren’t even spheres.

“What’s this?” Xue Ying waved his hand, and one of the thick pieces of gravel flew into it.

These thicker pieces were all ashen gray.

Xue Ying squeezed his fist, but even all the strength he had did not allow him to damage these the thick gravel pieces in any way; they were incomparably hard.

‘Let’s keep going.’

Xue Ying’s majestuous luminous sun force continued penetrating downwards, and countless pieces of gravel were pushed aside. The deeper he went, the thicker the gravel became, and the stranger the shapes that appeared were. Xue Ying gradually began coming up with some conjectures, and once he reached about sixty thousand kilometers deep, his complexion suddenly changed. He encountered an incomparably large black bone. Although the diameter of the deep hole he had created was more than a hundred million kilometers wide, he could see no more than a small portion of this bone.

Xue Ying immediately controlled his luminous sun force to begin pulling on the bone.

‘Hua la!’

The black bone was dragged into flight. It was now visible that its width was no less than 160 million kilometers, and that it had already begun breaking and fracturing. Furthermore, there were a large number of particles flowing on its surface. These particles were all ashen grey, and upon further inspection, they proved to be the afore-seen gravel from before.

‘Could it be that this bone decomposed to form the immeasurable amount of gravel?’ Xue Ying raised his head to look out towards this vast expanse of gravely ground. ‘Is this boundless ground made of gravel all made up of decomposed bone?’

Xue Ying tried conveniently picking up this bone to bring inside his Eden treasure. This particular item had been obtained and refined upon destroying the Howling Devil Cult Leader’s true body.

“Eh?” Xue Ying’s eyebrows knitted. He had originally planned on taking this ancient bone away, yet he immediately began sensing that the entire world bound it through an invisible force. He was simply unable to take it away.

‘I really can’t take it? And why does it seem as if it has become one with the world?’ Xue Ying shook his head, placing the bone back down. Once it reached the ground, the black bone sunk down with great speed. It was swiftly dragged to the very bottom by the formless energy.

Xue Ying looked back at the bottom of the deep hole he made, where an immeasurable amount of thick gravel had been pushed aside to clearly reveal the floor.

The black bone was now back at the bottom, and below it was a very tough and thick membrane, dark red in color.

“Break.” Xue Ying tried attacking it.

A strand of his luminous sun force pierced into the membrane barely managing to pierce it up to a depth of about a finger. As Xue Ying withdrew his energy, the small crack which had just formed immediately healed.

Xue Ying speedily flew off to investigate other areas.

“In the depths of this gravel ground, there are indeed some remains in the middle of decomposing,” Xue Ying softly said. “At the very bottom, there is a thick, dark red membrane, which I’ve only managed to penetrate up to a hundred meters deep even and even using the Scarlet Cloud Spear. On top of that, when I withdrew it, the thick membrane immediately healed.”

“En.”

There was some anxiety in Xue Ying’s heart since the sovereigns of the Dark Abyss could arrive at any moment. He did not dare waste any more time.

‘I should hide the Blood Demon Scripture first,’ Xue Ying suddenly thought. He flipped over his hand to pick up a blood-colored book which gave off the feeling an endless ocean of blood might have, as well as a sinister bloody aura, and even an enticing formless energy. A more ordinary, weaker World Deity might simply be unable to resist its enticement. However, Xue Ying was relatively exceptional in terms of his willpower, so he managed to resist it.

He placed the first half of the original copy of the “Blood Demon Scripture” inside a storage treasure, then bound this treasure with another which helped isolate it from probing techniques, and then easily changed its appearance to look exactly like the material making up the dark red membrane.

“Break!” He furiously thrust forth his Scarlet Cloud Spear a hundred meters deep into the ground, then threw the disguised treasure down, all the way to the bottom of the crack which he had just split open. He then withdrew his spear, allowing the crack to heal.

“If you have the skill, you can go ahead and look for it.” Xue Ying softly smiled.

He had entered the Three Chieftains Sacred Mountain so long ago, yet it was only now that he found a suitable place to hide the Blood Demon Scripture.

‘Sou.’

Xue Ying continued to fly.

“Pa pa pa…” Raindrops suddenly began falling from the sky.
