Chapter 532 - Die Fighting, Friend (2/2)

The four blood-armored warriors stood in mid-air inside the cavernous region, looking at the stream of water as it fled. They did not attempt to keep pursuing it.

“It looks like they did not actually know about the Blazing Blood Door, and were merely passing by it.” The enchanting woman lightly giggled. “Third Brother, had you also acted just now, he would most likely have died.”

The blade-wielder was the fastest member of their group. Had he used his full strength to obstruct him, Monarch Armadillo Jade would have a much harder time escaping.

“Hmph.” The man shook his head in response.

“Their combat power is very ordinary,” said the warrior with the tallest and biggest build. “Had they known about the Blazing Blood Door, they would not have dared attempt to charge through.”

“In spite of having barged through here, some of those four actually escaped. With two dead and two still alive, I’d say their luck is not bad at all,” the black-haired warrior said.

After they fled for a bit more time and they confirmed that they were not being pursued, Monarch Armadillo Jade finally stopped. The flowing stream turned back into the shape of a human, reverting to his original figure. Seeing this, Xue Ying and Jing Qiu finally let out a sigh of relief.

“They did not continue to chase us.” Xue Ying couldn’t help but look behind him.

“It’s all thanks to Monarch Armadillo Jade. Without him, both of us would have surely died inside there,” Jing Qiu said.

“Unfortunately, Fu Qiong did not make it.” Xue Ying shook his head.

After the calamity passed and they found themselves with renewed life, Xue Ying and Jing Qiu found themselves feeling jittery and unable to calm down. The threat they had just faced was as real as they went; they had been entirely suppressed! Their side was absolutely weaker than the opposite, and their only luck was that Monarch Armadillo Jade’s survival capabilities were incredible.

Monarch Armadillo Jade sighed. “The techniques of our enemies were too fast. The man wielding a blade was able to reach Fu Qiong and shatter his body in the blink of an eye. The enchanting woman then used her red light to prevent him from reforming his body. Fu Qiong ended up dying in a single exchange. I hoped I could save him, but it was to no avail. In any case… he’s dead now. Truthfully, even if he had not died in that exchange, he would likely have failed to survive the aftermath anyway.”

“How come?” Xue Ying and Jing Qiu were stunned.

“Monarch Armadillo Jade, why the lack of confidence?” Xue Ying felt puzzled.

After they survived this battle, Xue Ying felt incomparable admiration towards Monarch Armadillo Jade. Such survival capability was likely on the level of powerful existences. He should be able to withstand whatever this ordinary region threw at him.

“That woman, outside of her ability to display that strange red light, was an expert in hexing poisons” Monarch Armadillo Jade helplessly replied. “I’m already feeling the effects of her hexing poison, and I won’t be able to hold on for much longer.”

“What?!” Xue Ying and Jing Qiu were shocked silly.

“In truth, her hexing poison has entered every last part of my body. It’s already begun to consume my strength at a rapid pace, and my body will soon collapse,” Monarch Armadillo Jade helplessly explained. “Her hexing poison is too terrifying. My Black Water True Body was badly damaged, and it’s very close to collapsing.”

Monarch Armadillo Jade’s wave of his hand was followed by the sudden appearance of a black ruler, some storage treasures and some other materials.

“These are the treasures which the two of us have brought along.” Taking on a seated position in the corridor, Monarch Armadillo Jade entrusted Xue Ying and Jing Qiu with a task: “Your Highness, should the two of you be fortunate enough to get out alive, grant me and Fu Qiong the favor of bringing these treasures out. At least this way, our losses would be smaller.”

“Certainly.” Xue Ying nodded continuously, though his feeling of helplessness caused him to add, “I’ve begun to notice my own weakness during this trip inside of Lake Heart Island, and I’m afraid our chances of surviving are essentially zero. Brother Armadillo Jade, if I fail to bring these treasures out, you better not blame me.”

“Hahaha, just try your best.” A layer of green light suddenly condensed over Monarch Armadillo Jade’s face.

Noticing this, he looked to Xue Ying, “This time, we’ve fought together on the verge of life and death. Dong Bo, I’d say we can call each other friends by now, right?”

“Yes, definitely. To have a friend like you, Brother Armadillo Jade is a true fortune,” Xue Ying added.

“Hahaha, if I could make His Highness see me as a friend, then this death was not in vain.” Monarch Armadillo Jade laughed out loud.

With his loud laughter as a backdrop, Armadillo Jade’s body began to crumble apart before dissipating into nothingness.

A tinge of pain passed through the hearts of both Xue Ying and Jing Qiu.

King Fu Qiong had died, and now Monarch Armadillo Jade was dead too, leaving the two of them alone. How far down this path could they hope to reach now?
