46 Ant queen (1/2)

When the colors had settled I noticed we were in a rather large chamber. The room was much bigger than any of the rooms we had previously seen.

The main thing in the room was an extremely obese ant. I did not think it was possible for an ant to have a double chin, but the queen before me showed that this was not true. This ant had a total of 5 different chins. She was so large that not only could her legs not reach the ground, but she could not move her neck.

Behind her was a large mountain of eggs. The queen looked down at us with her small beady eyes. She spoke in a large, rather deep voice. ”So you have come my life, and the lives of my children. Know that Ishra will not not take kindly to my death. War will be imminent, A large scale bug invasion will happen.”

Hylia and I looked at each other and an old laughter escaped out mouths.

”Little bug, the thing Goddess Hylia fears the least is war.”

The queens eyes went wide as she realized she had miscalculated, but was not given a chance to respond as several bullets struck her in the head. Blood began to poor from the wounds, but the one thing this blog did not lack in was vitality. The wounds quickly closed, healing the damage that had been inflicted.

My poison continued to eat away at her, but from the looks of it not much damage was really being dealt.

Hylia followed up with a few swift strikes from her maul, and yet the hammer seemed to bounce off of her thick layers of fat. The small crack that had appeared on her carapiece was rapidly healing.

I nodded as her attack confirmed what I had already suspected. Not only was the queens vitality high, but her constitution was its equal. We were in for a long fight, and the timer had not stopped ticking.

My back was coated in sweat, and I was panting heavily as I stared at the behemoth before us. Bullet holes riddled her body, and most of her carapiece had fallen off. Beside me Hylia was in no better condition. The timer had fallen below ten minutes and we had no time to rest.

My mana was nearly depleted. I had only 1000 left enough for 10 more shots. Hylia struggled to move. Her stamina was in an even worse state than my own.

I knew in my heart that my remaining mana was not enough to finish off this beast. But I did not know how to continue. I was looking for an answer, any answer to our problem.

It was then that my foot slipped, and stepped on a sticky round object. I could feel it being squished below my feet.

The queen screamed as I did this, and I looked down to see one of the many eggs in pieces below me. Understanding dawned on me, and I quickly told my plan to Hylia.

It was true that she was too exhausted to continue her assault on the queen, but going for a simple stroll was well in her capabilities. With each step she took the queen seemed to grow weaker. With each step she took she crushed another egg.

I used my remaining ten shots wisely, only firing to refresh my poison counter, as I too took a lovely stroll through a sea of eggs.

The queen grew weaker by the second, after half of the eggs were gone blood began to spew from her mouth.

My discovery assured our victory, the queen fell as soon as the last egg was destroyed. With the final step the instance had been completed. and we violently ejected from the dungeon.
