The Caliph of the Sands was dead, but his influence still made Cloudhawk’s life hell
The deanized ar a new leader for themselvesLesser chieftains refused to obey just anyone and none were strong enough to lead the sweepers as a wholeCollapse of the structure was inevitableHowever their loyalty to their demon master never faded, and once word spread that Cloudhawk had been responsible for his death he was immediately labeled as enemy number one
And that wasn’t the worst of it
The most terrible result of his actions was the effects it caused throughout the wastelands, the chaosHarrowed denizens of every small and medium-sized outpost hated Cloudhan to their bonesAll manner of rewards were offered to the person who could kill the young de the wilds or passing a settlementBounty hunters, for himThey also knew his location, everywhere within a hundredwith enemiesCloudhawk’s troubles were et itWhat the hell rong with this world!?
Hadn’t the Bloodsoaked Queen taught him that demons were the most vile, cruel, sinister creatures in the wastelands? Weren’t they the root of all the wars and disasters humanity had faced? Didn’t she tell hiht about the end of days?
How could killing one suddenly turn him into the villain?!
Dusk settled over the area as the beating wasteland sun descendedCloudhawk, Depp and the other two re Greenland warriors found a place to hide out in the wildsAll four of theabondsIt’d been days already without any opportunity to rest, awaiting death around every corner
“We’re out of water” One of the soldiers tipped over a canteen and shook itNot a single drop caet us dehydration willWe need to find a settleh?” One of the other soldiers shot back“fuckin roup for miles knoe areThey knoe look like and e’re carrying, anywhere we go we’ll be walking into their net”
His co fro his bow
“We’re surrounded on all sides by a hostile wastelandThe pressure’s only gonna get worse” Cloudha their situation had destroyed the morale of his co with erous, you should leaveIt’s the only way to keep you fro wrapped up in this”
The two soldiers were moved and surprised by his words
They had been tasked with escorting Cloudhawk five hundred miles or soBy now they were about that far, so they could technically call their mission over and head homeIf they dumped the kid now their chances of survival ay up
“No” Depp, who had been silent until now, spoke upThe way he said it left no room for doubt“We aren’t done with our uy a moron?! Who would even know? They ithin a few dozen o anyhat difference did it make?
Depp held his bow in his hands and fixed the others with a steely gaze“Our ree with thatto say”
Depp was the best bow them would survive if he turned his bow on the soldiers slowly sat back down

Cloudhawk looked over the odd mutantHe couldn’t help but feel appreciationDepp was no weakling, and given a few years he would be a force to be reckoned withNow after all they suffered, to stick to such an arduous task was not an easy thing
Cloudhawk couldn’t stop hi, “It’s just a missionIs it really that important to you?”
Depp placed the arrows he’d been sharpening back in his quiverWhen he answered he did so in a soft voice“Don’t worry about it”
Cloudhaas going to push hiroup on the horizonThey were coroup of five or six vehiclesA host of ugly sweepers were aain!
It was the saerTheir chief must have taken or recruitedareasThey even had a pack of taht or nine of the tracked
“This motherfucker doesn’t knohen to quit!” Cloudhaas sick and fuckin’ tired of these sweeper assholes!
One of the Greenland soldiers had to ht our scentIt’s not safe here, I need to go!”
“We can’t get away, not on two legs” Cloudhawk’s eyes were fixed on the cars alint in his eye, and then he said soo steal a car”
Steal a car? Was he fuckin’ joking?
He planned to get aith one of their vehicles, right under the noses of a few hundred sweepersHoas his plan any different from suicide? But in reality they were in a nasty spot, and a sufficiently fast car was the only way they were going to escape these sweepers and everyone else out for blood
“Relax, I got it under control” Cloudhawk affixed the Bloodsoaked Queen’s mask to his face and pulled up his hoodHe croaked at theround“Please wait for me here”
This stretch of wasteland was peppered with bouldersCloudhawk used theroupHe didn’t have his staff or his gun, this tierIt was the knife the Queen had given him, the one she said was made back where she’d come fromIt was fine craftsmanshi+p, better than any of the crude weapons found in the wastelands
Cloudhawk first determined the direction of the wind so he could find which side was leewardPressing hiet a better look at his target
He could tell right away that the several-hundred strong sweeper contingent was overconfidentThey certainly weren’t expecting a sneak attack, and due to their speedforward their forht Cloudhawk’s attention was the large vehicle situated in the rear of the group, a wasteland cargo truck covered in reinforced steelDespite the fact that it was somewhat separated from the rest of their crew, there were still four or five sweepers hanging around
They were getting closer
Cloudhaas hidden fro as the wind kept steady in the opposite directionOnce they were close enough he lifted his hand and a s sky and Cloudhawk’s sandstor it difficult to seeThey were none the wiser as the wastelander slipped froh their ranksLike an angel of death he slowly snuck up on the very last sweeper in the crewHis target had no tied his writhing body behind a nearby rock to die
The Cloudhaho stalked the sands noas coer that crawled over it beforeHis tie was short, but he put the foundational skills he’d learned to good useTaking advantage of the choking sands Cloudhawk quickly dispatched five of his enemies – foes that would have taken a few chunks out of hiht
There was no tiuise himself as one of them, so instead he pulled open the truck door and ju Cloudhawk silenced hiht in his voice box
“All good!”
As he took up position in the driver’s seat Cloudhaas surprised at how soneHis foot hit the pedal and suddenly the trundling vehicle shot off like a bat out of hellSeveral sweepers were caught under its wheels and crushed to death

“What’s going on?!”
“Where’s this car going?”
The sweeper chief was hollering abuses when suddenly the truck turnedHe saw the driver, a young boy – it was him!
“Grab him!”
The scythe-bearer and his ht, for none of theht under their noses and steal a carAs Cloudhahipped through the host of sweepers he swung the wheel back and forth, slithering through them like a serpentSweepers and boulders alike were crushed by the truck’s reinforced body, nothing could stop it fro off into the distance
“With me, follow him!”
When the sweepers snapped back to their senses they gave chase, almost on instinctBy then the truck was already several hundred feet away, though, and in a car whereas most of the sweepers were on footBy the time the chief’ orders were relayed and people started to react, Cloudhaas already too far
