Chapter 41 - This Is My Father! (1/2)
“I’m six years old now. I’m no longer a three-year-old kid.”
He sneered at her and Lu Man felt like she was being despised by him. She touched her nose rather awkwardly.
“Then, goodbye.” She turned and wanted to leave him.
“Wait a moment,” the little boy called out to her.
Lu Man turned around. “What’s wrong?”
“What’s your name?”
She replied naturally, “Lu Man.”
“Fine. I’ll remember it now,” the little boy replied seriously.
Lu Man was amused. “Why do you want to remember my name?”
“It’s because you’re rather good looking!” She could be his backup friend.
“Then, do I have to thank you for your compliment?”
“Sure. Not many people receive my compliment.” His taste was indeed high.
“Then, thank you!” Lu Man stretched her hand and patted his head. He was such an adorable kid but he sounded so serious. She just wanted to pat him.
Her actions stunned him. No one had ever treated him like that since he was born.
“What’s wrong?”
“Forget about it.” He did not shake her off because it was not an unpleasant feeling.
Lu Man came out of the washroom. Pei Xiuyuan had finished paying the bills and he was waiting for her.
“I met an adorable kid in the washroom. I’m curious as to what his parents look like! How is he so adorable!” Lu Man could not help but wonder when they were on their way home.
“Do you like kids?” Pei Xiuyuan asked her. His eyes brightened at that.
“Yes.” Lu Man did adore kids.
“That’s good.” Pei Xiuyuan smiled. It was a captivating smile.
Lu Man did not understand his meaning but she did not ask for his clarification.
Wang Yunxi was delighted when she received a call from her elder brother saying that she did not have to hold a press conference anymore. She felt that he did adore her deeply. But, she soon became doubtful. Just the other day, her elder brother did not even let her go when she threatened to die in front of him. Why did he suddenly forgive her?
She told Mu Yunhai what happened. Mu Yunhai was not surprised at all. He did not appear to be very delighted regarding the good news. Wang Yunxi found it weird.
“Did you go and meet with Lu Man?” Wang Yunxi soon figured out the reason why.
“It’s fine now as long as we don’t have to hold the press conference.” Mu Yunhai did not want to explain anymore.
“Your old lover treats you so nicely.” Wang Yunxi could not help but make a sarcastic remark.
Mu Yunhai did not want to be bothered by her.
Wang Yunxi was angry. There was someone else her husband cared about. Her elder brother did not even forgive her when she had threatened to commit suicide in front of him. But now, he had changed his behavior because of what Lu Man said…
She should be the ones they adored deeply. But, they cared about someone else. They cared about Lu Man so deeply.
Moreover, Wang Yunxi should be stepping on Lu Man right now!
A servant came with the news.
“Miss, the old lady has returned.”
Both Wang Yunxi and Mu Yunhai were shocked.
At the same time…
“CEO Pei, the old lady has returned.”
Pei Xiuyuan was always calm. But, he was a little bit anxious now.
“Why did my grandma come back so early?”
“I don’t know.”
“Get out.”
Pei Xiuyuan received a call from his grandmother when PA Wang left him.
“Come back home tonight and bring along your newly-wed wife.”
