His rose that he was so afraid to even touch, fearing that he might hurt her, had been picked by another man!

Hearing the sound of the door closing, Lu Man slowly relaxed her mind.

Pei Xiuyuan was hugging her. His hands were playing with her long hair but his eyes were dark.

The silence was making her feel almost suffocated.

Finally, Lu Man asked, “Are my requests too excessive?”

Pei Xiuyuan’s eyes darkened more. “No, Wang Yunxi has done wrong this time. If she does not learn a lesson this time, she will become worse.”

Lu Man bit her lower lip. “But… will it affect the reputation of the Pei family?”

“It will. But people would just say I pamper my sister too much. That’s all.”

“Wang Yunxi was a very proud person. It will be unbearable for her to slap her own face.

Lu Man was speechless.

“Is she your real sister?” He was so cruel to her!

She could not look into his eyes, so she looked away.

Pei Xiuyuan did not say anything but he hugged her tighter.

At the lobby…

“What took you so long to get down here?” Wang Yunxi was in a very bad mood that she could not even be nice to Mu Yunhai.

“I was persuading your brother not to let you hold the press conference.”

“Persuading him? You still harbor feelings toward Lu Man, don’t you?” Wang Yunxi said coldly. Even she could not persuade her brother, much less him persuading her brother! She was not a fool for not knowing what he was thinking!

“What difference does it make if I still have feelings for her?” Mu Yunhai felt dejected when Lu Man was mentioned.

“Yeah, right! She is now our sister-in-law and she has the power to control us! You must never have imagined that after dumping her and making up with me that you will have to live a life under her power, right?” His confession annoyed Wang Yunxi. So she had said this sardonically.

Mu Yunhai’s face darkened. “I made up with you?”

“Didn’t you?” Wang Yunxi was not stupid. She knew he had Lu Man in his heart, but he still decided to marry her. If it was not for her family background, what else would be it for?

“If you think that way, so be it then.”
