It was true that he had multiple ways to mess with her if he really wanted to given how influential he was.

“Then, why didn’t you tell me earlier that you’re Wang Yunxi’s elder brother?” How could he explain that?

“If I told you earlier, would you still marry me? Would you be with me?”

Lu Man was speechless.

“It’s not easy that I have finally found someone I want to be with for the rest of my life. How could I tell you earlier when I know that you might leave me when you know the truth? I need to build my relationship with you first. Is that wrong? Am I messing with you?”

Lu Man could not respond to that. What he said was reasonable.

It sounded like she was wrong here.

She could not say anything anymore. She was saddened.

“You… You’re bullying me…” She started to cry.

She stared at him with watery large eyes. She seemed so sad and cute at the same time. Pei Xiuyuan felt that he was a big bully in front of her!

Yes, that was true. He was indeed bullying her! He had done that on purpose.

He was interested in her and she had thrown herself at his feet. He had no other choice but to let her stay.

He ignored how she resisted him. He brought her into his embrace. “Isn’t it nice that you’re her sister-in-law now? They need to address you as their sister-in-law and treat you respectfully from now on. You could be above them for the rest of your life. Isn’t that wonderful?”

Lu Man agreed with him after his explanation. “But, I don’t want that. I just don’t want to see them!”

Their very presence annoyed her. So, she did not want that anymore when she thought about it.

“Then, do you want to be bullied by them for the rest of your life? Do you want no way out of this mess?” Pei Xiuyuan raised her eyebrow.

She was stunned slightly. “Are you threatening me?”

“No, I’m just speaking the truth.”

Lu Man was speechless.

But, he was indeed speaking the truth. If she was not his wife, she was nobody. She would then become someone who could easily be ruined and bullied by others. She did not want to admit that but she needed to. She had almost forgotten the cruelty of the world when she was under his protection all this while. She was not a prestigious person but he was. She needed to cling to him in order to stay alive.

It was pathetic. She was helpless.

A strong suppression came over her and she almost could not breathe. She wanted to run away but she was not allowed to. There was no way out no matter how large the world was.

That deep desperation almost defeated her.

Her tears ran down her cheek silently.

“Don’t cry…” Pei Xiuyuan was saddened by her tears.

Lu Man smiled bitterly. “Am I not allowed to cry too?”

Pei Xiuyuan sighed. “My dear, I’m not a generous person. Just mention that I’m selfish or anything you want. But, I want you to stay. I want you by my side.”

He was not a good man. He only protected the people he loved.

Lu Man suddenly remembered a saying when she looked at him. It was as if she was living with the devil. Although it did not match their situation, it was just the same for her.

He was just like a king. He could adore her and loved her when he was happy. She could do whatever she wanted. But, if she did not obey him, he might change into something else and easily crush her to death.

It was her fault. She thought that he adored her deeply. She had thought a tiger to be a domesticated cat.
