Wh–What?

Only a second before he had ordered the death of Quan Jin.

The next second, it was as if the senior officer had heard some startling information; even through the phone, the vice-captain could feel the fear in the officer’s voice.

Who was Quan Jin exactly?

Could have she been more than just the heir of the Quan’s? Catching bullets in the air… and that dismissive arrogance!

Thump!

Quan Jin tossed the phone at the feet of the trembling vice-captain. “Here, tell me, did you see or hear anything just now?” she asked, authoritative and commanding.

The vice-captain and his teammates shook their heads violently and hurriedly crouched in a corner.

Quan Jin glanced at them.

Sitting on a bed board in the prison cell, twirling the red thread on her right wrist around her left index finger, four white spots that were invisible to the regular human eye appeared on the thread.

She couldn’t remember how long it had been since she had last fallen asleep in this body.

The four spots on the red thread represented each life she had left to live.

Three hours before there had been five spots… suddenly, there were only four. She only had four days left to live. Four days!

Damn!

Quan Jin felt like murdering someone: the prophecy of Mo Corporation’s shutdown had taken away one of the lives she had left. There goes another day.

“Captain, wh…what do we do now?”

“Is the Capital really sending their people over?”

“Isn’t she the heir of the Quan’s? Why would they come down personally?”

Listening to the teammate’s excessive questioning, the vice-captain’s anger mounted and he retorted, “Shut up, how would I know!”
