6 Dream 5: Betrothed (2/2)
”Call me Adara. I am Adara Shawn, sorry for the late introduction. I am the eldest daughter of Shawn family, my brother brought you here didn't he? Miss Fai?”
Fai again was confused. ”How did she know what I was curious about? She knows my name?Brother? Does she mean Genrou?”
She then decided ”Let's just ask anyway!”---”Ma'am Adara, how did you know, you know, what I was thinking and such. Do you have a psychic power or mind reading abilities? You even know my name” she asked.
Adara snickered and replied ”What are you talking about psychic and such, my power's not that. I don't even need abilities to guess what you were thinking, your expressions were sooo easy to read you know, like a scroll with big letters, I love it! hahahaha”
Fai place her palm in the face, ”I knew it, I'm being dumb again--arghh so embarassing”
Sapphire continues to laugh, and she said while patting Fai's back. ”Don't be disappointed my dear, everyone goes through that once in their life.”
Fai in her thoughts, ”Well for me, I experience that most of the times.”
”Come on, I thought what my brother brought home was just some kind of you know, the acting pitiful yet vicious types. We are prone to those viles nowadays.
My parents were so interested in you, that's when I come to know your name. I even thought that you used some witchcraft to seduce my brother and get their attention. Mortals are capable of that right? I was really looking forward in slapping you in the face, but then when I finally met you, I was a bit dissapointed.” She pouted while rolling her eyes.
Fai curiously asks,”Why is that?”
”Well because I got the wrong hunch. And I couldn't slap you. Do you know how frustrating that is? But then I realized you were innocent and I can feel it.” Then she put a friendly smile on her face showing her teeth.
Fai sat in the bed and asserted. ”Miss Adara.”
”Mm?”
”You are Genrou's sister right?
”Yes, I am. *looks at Fai directly* If you are wondering what to call me because I'm a princess, just continue with the 'Miss Adara' or just Adara. Don't call me princess anymore I'm sick of it already.”
”But that's not what I'm wondering about” Fai straightforwardly said.
Adara, who did not expect to hear that from her, got embarrassed. She awkwardly responded looking away while tucking her hair behind her ears, ”W-well I'm just reminding you, you know. *Awkward laugh* Ha-haha-haa.”
To break the awkward atmosphere she then asked Fai ”Anyway, what is it that you want to say?”
Fai replied, ”I just want to say that you two brother and sister, other than being both gorgeous physically, you are also suspicious of me. You see, first I met him and then he accused me of being a spy, next I was suspected being a witch by you. Am I really that suspicious? Also, you know what, you both told me that I am easy to read. You truly are siblings. I get laugh at by you.”
Adara burst out laughing. ”HAHAHAHA you're really cute you know that. Honest and charming. If my Genrou wasn't engaged, I'd ship both of you.” She asserted
Fai cannot believe what she just heard, and her mouth slowly drops open, ”What!? He's engaged!? Already!?” she exclaimed.
”What, you can't believe? Why, you want to take the fiancée's place?” She jokingly indicated.
”What? No! It's just unexpected. I did not expect it at all, him having a lover I mean.”
”I see. Come here,*pats the couch* I'm gonna tell you something interesting. You might get more shock when you hear about it. *winks*
Fai then sat beside Adara. Curiously she asks ”What is the interesting news? Come on tell me.”
Adara whispered in Fai's ear,”The seat's taken but it's vaaacannttt~”.
”What do you mean?”
”What do you mean what I mean? Can't you guess it? The fiancée's not around.”
*Startled* Fai responded ”What!? Oh gosh! (*slowly place her hands on the mouth*) and he's still holding onto their relationship? (*teary eyed*) What a lover boy he is! (*back to normal*) Anyway, where'd the girl go?”
”Her whereabouts are unknown as of now. And it's not like my brother have a choice you know. They were betrothed with each other since their birth so naturally he must stay loyal to her. But of course I have to agree that my brothers' truly a lover boy. In fact he really is true to his feelings. Even though he hadn't have the chance to meet her yet.”
Fai reacted, ”They...did not meet yet? Is it possible to remain loyal to the person you haven't even met? I mean how can one develop feelings if the person he loves is unknown?” and she muttered, ”Here is really different. It's not even possible in our world. Including those who are so inlove, breaks up when they experience a long distance relationship.”
Then Adara uttered out a question, ”Fai, do you believe in destiny?”
”Destiny? I've heard enough of it from couple's in love. But I feel skeptic about it. I mean, isn't it just a coincidence? People meet when they meet, break up when they break up. Clearly, event happens when it happens.” She replied.
Adara smiled ”Well you have a point, but we, Immortals believe in destiny. You see, Genrou's fiancée was not a normal princess at all. She is appointed as the chosen one.”
In Fai's thoughts ”Oh, of course she is a princess.”
Adara further explained. ”In Genrou and his fiancée's case, the prophet predicted that the chosen one was destined to be with a Dragon Prince who will be born the same year as her. It is said that he will play a big role in the midst of fulfilling her mission. He will be her greatest ally, as well as her strength and weakness. And because my brother was born exactly the same year as the princess was, he was chosen as the best candidate for the engagement. He was the only dragon prince who was born in that year. It's as if, it really were all in place.”
